This is a Singapore awards flight. There was no where to add your FF number

Understood. I'd suggest asking in the SQ forum, your NZ status shows as *G to other carriers so it'll really depend on whether SQ honour other *A status on their awards.

You could also try contacting SQ directly.

Award ticket is irrelevant, you are still entitled to your star alliance status perks, just ask at check in to add your air NZ ff number or show your card, I prefer to have my status on the boarding pass so always ask to add it via call center or check in desk.

Has anyone had any luck with a Air NZ status match in recent times?

Since the end of 2018 match, I haven't heard of any Air NZ status match programs or any individual who's had it approved.

If you're just after star gold then I'd look at United however if you're a very heavy trans Tasman flyer in premium cabins or across to the states then I'd send a recent statement and explanation to them and see what they say.
