It has been suggested that we have a place where members can ask questions they always wanted to ask a Bogan. We have several Bogans amongst the AFF membership and this is an opportunity to ask questions related to dress sense, alcohol consumption, or anything relating to the life of a Bogan (well, maybe not anything

).

Please be aware that all members of AFF are voluntary members of the community and nobody is expected or required to comment of answer any specific question. Also note that some of our Bogan members are away from their homes in the Western suburbs and may not be in a position to read AFF and respond immediately, so please be patient.

We have members with from wide-ranging social classes, from sixteen-year-olds with Frequent Flyer cards through to commuters with flats in Fairfield.

Please be aware that some topics relating to specific suburbs may not be able to be addressed directly and we respect the social restrictions that may exist from time to time around some topics.

If the mods find question raised in other threads or forums that we feel may be best addressed in this thread, we may move or copy the posts here.

We greatly respect and appreciate the input provided by the Bogans in our community and I look forward to some interesting questions and answers.

As this is an "ask the Bogan" thread, we ask that non-Bogan members refrain from answering questions that have been directed to Bogans until the Bogan members have had a good opportunity to answer the question (i.e. at least 7 days). Posts contrary to this request or discussions that get too far off topic may be removed or moved to a more appropriate thread or forum so we can retain order and respect in this thread.

Is Bali still the area of choice for overseas travel, or has another port taken over as more favourable?

(PMSL btw!)

How much alcohol do you consume at the public bar before embarking on your overseas holiday, taken every five years?

To the bogans, which charges cause you the most trouble when answering immigration questions in foreign countries. A follow on question, which countries are the most bogan friendly?

Which mixers/duty free spirits are easiest to smuggle onboard JQi flights for in-flight consumption?

Or did you book a return ticket and do you have enough money?

I have been called a Rockingham Cashed Up Bogan and was deply offended.

What, with my HSV, jetski, Pandora Jewelery clad girlfriend(s), QP gained access through my FIFO flights and the sunday sesh at the Swinging Pig, how could anyone think I was a Bogan. Anyway, off for my HJ's breakfast with Jacks and coke.

Don't forget the fluro vest and muddy boots!

I don't own a fluro vest, my shirts come with the reflective strips sewn onto them. However my wardrobe pretty much is full of clothing given to me by suppliers and mining companies. My clothing bill per year is quite low.

On a side note, I choked the other day reading a thread where posters were talking of $2000 versus $500 suits. I changed my mind about mentioning in that thread that my suit was 25quid from Tesco on special in November last year.

Maybe I am a bogan.

Great post - I didn't understand a word that you wrote after "offended".

You got a suit!

You got a suit!

Yeah it has thin lines running down it, the salesgirl said they were called pinstripes. Still can't work out why there called pinstripes, how do you make a stripe with a pin, maybe it was her accent and she actually said penstripes.

Anyway one of my girlfreinds says I look hot in it. Can't wait for the next hatch, match or dispatch.;)

Did you get a good deal on the 25 matching fluoro singlets proclaiming "Nobbsie (substitute nickname as appropriate) - Bali Tour 2011" on the back?

I really need to ask this question.... What defines a bogan? Or for clarification am I a Bogan? As the sun rises I also do, I don my steel capped boots and orange vest ( preferentially I choose comfortable clothing, thongs shorts and tee shirt in summer and trakkies jumper and runners for winter at work. but due to Safety standards the boots and vest must suffice).I own and run a business that has made it possible personally for every person ever in Australia to make a land based and mobile phone call in the last 12 years. I have friends that work in the west for the miners earning more money than I, friends that are accomplished Architects, equity fund managers etc. They earn more than I. My daughter made Silver before me. I drink at the QC and on the plane often, have QC life, travel business class when I can.I have never owned a Holden, though I've had a falcon ute. What am I.......Further questions will be answered to clarify my positionYour helpPVCMenace
