Strategy to obtain US Amex

I logged in to my Australian Amex account then switched over to the US version. The US site recognised my Australian account, then it got marked as a global transfer. Looks like it wasn't an automatic approval, so I think you at least need a US bank statement with a US address (which is actually not hard to change) to get it through.
Did you use a myUS address?

Yep, the one provided by myUS itself. You will be provided with a link to submit the documents. Then if approved for one the higher tier cards, you can track the package to myUS. MyUS receives the package, and if its all clear from their end then its ready to be shipped.

Thanks, I’ll give it a shot again next month

Just called Amex now. If you get the Business card and not the Personal card you won't establish a credit score in the US, even though I had an Itin number. A credit score in the US is important for me so I'm getting the more expensive Personal Bonvoy card to begin with.

Okay received an email to call in which I did and they need me to upload
-Copy of ITIN number letter
-Copy of passport
-Copy of Utility invoice with my address in the US or bank statement with the US address

I think I've read that Wise could be trouble now. Anyone know any other bank I can get in contact with to create a US bank account?

Looks like Passbook by Remitly (available on Google and Apple stores) lets you create an account without SSN/ITIN. They'll post the debit card to your US address but myUS doesn't forward letters so I haven't gone through with this.

I'm considering looking at other forwarders like postscanmail but having to fill the 1583 form puts me off...

I've managed to open a HSBC Premier US Account as I had one in the UK. They haven't asked any questions at all and I wasn't asked to schedule an appointment with an International Baking manager as their site seems to imply...

Now I'm still trying to decide whether to change the account address to the myUS one or sign up for postscanmail.

Hsbc . Qualify for premier in oz . Then ask them to open an account in the US .

Thanks,

I did see that post but it was lacking details on the how? I need to make a manual payment for a bill due in 7 days.
Wise will provide the bank details (for Evolve Bank and Trust) and payment is made from your Wise USD account). I set up a USD account in my Wise account and I transfer funds into that. Then, in my Amex account, I can make payments, debited from Wise.

Thats awesome. So Wise give you a USA routing and account number to use to make payments from essentially?

Yes, they do.

Using those details with Amex (>Manage Bank Accounts), I have used “Pay It” to pay Amex purchases. The Wise USD account gets debited by Amex.

Good to know. Is it possible to pay Amex invoice with a debit card issued in another country? Have a European revolut card which is a debit prepaid card. Would be nice to pay with this.

My t-mobile SIM card was delivered today

Anybody know how to set it up? I'm outside the US

Can't seem to create a t-mobile account without a phone number - can't get the number without an account

Have the SIM number, PUK code and IMEI from an unlocked iPhone but no joy

Heeeeeeeeeelp:oops:
