Strategy to obtain US Amex

I just googled sniip. It seems it's an app/wallet thingy? I am afraid that would just trigger the fraud depts on these banks. I do have the B of A Air France card spend to make but that is easier as I allocated AGL, Origin, car rego and mechanic to finish that one off.
An app/wallet thingy? 🤔

It’s a payments platform that allows me to pay some bills with Amex where the merchant doesn’t accept Amex.

Ohh I have used Sniip for my US Amex and they accept it, didn't get any calls about the transaction. Not a cash advance as well thankfully got the points.
I also use Sniip often to pay bills with my 3 US Amex cards and have had no issues so far. A good way to help meet minimum spend.

I was looking at Ink prefered only before. For Ink cashback, even though no fee and lower min spend for 75K SUB, there is a 3% foreign transaction fee. Great if you have $7,500 US spend or $225 in fee. Actually $225 for 75K is not bad.

Maybe I try to churn later but not sure how easy it is to get approved for Chase business cards these days.

Yes, the FTF is the most annoying part of the set up. I tend only to get one when I can put a fair chunk of the spend on USD, and use other cards when I'm mostly spending AUD. There are other great churning options with no FTF depending on your preferred redemption patterns (eg World of Hyatt business, NLL Amex business).

Business cards are, in general, very easy to apply for. Even putting $0 revenue. Just need to apply as a sole prop.

I was afraid of that. The only bills I have that take Amex are Vodafone and Foxtel. I am taking the car for servicing on Monday but not sure if they take Amex. (Just called, they don't) I may have to buy Coles and Woolies gift cards to push it up to $2000 USD. They would post as supermarket spend. It's so hard to make these spends when our dollar down. It's like almost $3000 for us.
Rego ? Insurance ?

Just note that Sniip charges 3% for foreign cards, but still worth it if you need to meet a sign up bonus.
Terms and conditions might have bit conflicting, but I'm being charged 1.5% and not 3% for international cards. Not sure what's their definition of international cards.

Ahh that's interesting to know. Never considered Sniip because I thought it was a 3% fee for foreign cards, which is what it says on their website. Thanks.

What addresses do people use to obtain a US Amex? I have been referred by my brother who has a US Amex and wanted to take him up but he has since moved back from the US and I was wondering what is the best method?

Rego ? Insurance ?
Wow, QLD transport takes Amex! I don't think this was always the case. So that is a nice chunk off Amex. Insurance is paid through Oct and they don't take Amex. Let's see how much my car service costs. That may push the Air France card over the target. It's an old car and I suspect there will be things needing fixing.

Does Amex give the points when the target is reached? Or do they wait until the statement closes?

For both of my Amex Hilton cards, the bonus points pretty much got transferred once the minimum spend was met. Probably 1-2 days afterwards at most.

For MR program cards points are credited once payment for statement has been made .
So an airline branded Amex would probably be like the hotel ones and transferred in a couple days? I don't think anyone else here has a Delta Amex.

Application for Hilton Aspire was accepted. I'll see how I go with Planet Express or whether I call Amex to try the re-ship option in a week or so

Just wondering, did amex deliver to and did Planet Express forward on the card without issue?

I usually use Planet Express for package forwarding and was thinking of signing up for the Hilton Aspire card using my Planet Express address (if it worked for you!)

How hard is it to apply for amex business cards? I already have Hilton Aspire and Bonvoy Brilliant. Held it for 1 year +.
Do I need ITIN or anything else to apply for Bonvoy business card from amex?

I don't believe you'll be rejected, it's just you can't access your information online until they verify your docs.
I have the same issue, I haven't been able to access my account online, they sent a verification code by mail which I verified but still unable to login. They said there's a discrepancy in my credit file and I need to send in documents.
There is several services to send local letters in the US by uploading your PDFs. I tried DocuPost and they're good.
Does the Equifax core credit online account mention your current address ? I can’t seem to remember .
