Data point: Delta Amex Gold 70k SUB has posted already. Spend was achieved on Monday, took a couple days to go from pending to posted. Next statement won't close until 8 Aug so they don't wait until statement closes. If anyone is interested please pm for referral.

I've found the same with the Amex Hiltons if you have already received your first statement. If you haven't already received your first statement, in my experience it doesn't post until first statement closing date.

Thank you for sharing ! I had a quick browse through the first two pages of the application. Looks pretty straightforward. I was looking at the AMEX Checking account too, since i have the Aspire.

Are you going to apply for this HSBC account ?
It does have a $50 monthly fee if you don't deposit 5k every month or have 75K sitting in the account.

Another option might be for you to open this account thru this method . Qualify vtl hsbc premiere in australia and then get them to give you reciprocal premiere status in us and this have monthly fee waived . This would be an easier option as opposed to having hsbc premiere team opening account for you in US .

Hilariously, the 100K bonus for my Hilton no AF posted even though I am still ~$300 away from hitting the minimum spend. Amex is all over the place.

I think that it’s a good move by Amex.

In my case, all three card bonuses posted before meeting the minimum spend. Expect claw-back if the spend is not met, however.

In short, no way to appeal. You definitely won't get the bonus if you get the pop-up. Best known way to get out of pop-up jail is to put large and regular spend through your existing Amex cards. Keep trying different Amex cards — some, especially business cards, may not produce a pop-up.

It could be one factor because it suggests you're gaming the system and are not profitable for them, but no one knows for sure. It is certainly possible to close cards after 12 months and avoid pop-up jail, otherwise churning wouldn't be possible and Amex is one of the most churn-friendly providers in the US.

I pulled the trigger on the UA Explorer, got a message that "We need to review your request a little longer. We will let you know of our decision as soon as possible".
I called the automatic number for status and got the 2 week message which means it is probably approved. I got an email from Experian that Chase pulled my file.

Hopefully! I am just going by what that blog said.
