Strategy to obtain US Amex

log into amex. click on account services, replace a card , the status and tracking no should be there ( if relevant)

Log in to my us. check your suite. if its not showing provide them tracking number provided by amex. ( there is an option to do so in the account or do it via chat.

In my case the tracking no provided for USPS did`nt work.
 
Can someone kindly advise how do I track if my card has been posted out, and if it's delivered to the Suite in MYUS?

... cards like Hilton Aspire or Platinum charge, Amex will ship it via UPS and the tracking number is in your Amex online account ...

Tracking information has been previously advised by tlam, and now by blacksultan.

Thanks to you both for the input. I intend to apply for the Aspire, so the information is very useful.

Amex online shows delivered and shows shipping address as:

4283 EXPRESS LN
SARASOTA
For your security, only a part of your address is shown.

In anyone's experience, does this mean Amex failed to put Suite number and I now need to contact MYUS to search their undistributed mail?

I believe it means they have withheld your full address from being displayed online to protect your privacy.
Do you have a premium plus mail membership? From my experience if yo dont they will reject tyour package.
Is there a tracking no? Get onto my us online chat asap.

I gave up dealing with my us and have asked for a third card to be sent to my friends US address. fingers crossed.

I do not recall reading any posts, above, that said that the suite # was included by Amex, for delivery. Just the opposite.

Just from what I have read. Maybe someone will have some positive information.

Yes there is a tracking number from Amex. How do I get to MyUS online chat? Its midnight in US now. I suppose online chat only works during business hours US time?

Just standard membership I believe, but happy to pay extra to have it posted to Australia.

I believe it works all hours . Sign in . Click on contact us . Fill out you details and a chat window will open
 
UPS. Checking on the website shows its delivered but doesn't show the full address Amex used.

At least it’s now with MyUS.

Edit: Shortly, your MyUS account should show if it has been allocated to your suite

Thanks to a lot of wonderful people here I was able to get my card relatively easily. I'll just summarise my experience here and since this is purely based on my experience others may find it differently:
  • I'm using Google Voice as the phone number and it receives and sends SMS from/to AE and also voice calls without issues (some also suggest Textnow which seems to do the same thing).
  • I applied for the Hilton card and got a tracking number when you login AE. I wasn't eligible for the instant number.
  • I'm using MyUS and put in my suite number separately in the address when applying but AE did not put in my suite number. The address they wrote was only the MyUS address.
  • I waited 3 days (as that's the time MyUS said takes to arrive into the suite) and then chatted with them. They found my package in the unclaimed because there was no suite number.
  • Once in my suite, I choose DHL and it arrived around a week to Aus.
  • Opened a live chat session with AE to get the banking details to transfer to their bank to pay off the card via XE.
  • I remember reading above somewhere that $20 is taken by the receiving bank which is what happened. I've paid twice using XE and both times it was less $20. I know a lot of banks in Australia also do the same (take a fee for receiving international transfers) so not surprised.
  • I met the minimum spend and got the bonus points (Hilton) straight away into my Hilton account without the need to wait for the statement date.
  • Purchasing GCs also satisfy the requirements as without the purchases, I wouldn't have met the required spend (statement clearly shows EVERYDAY GIFT CARD).
  • On the first try for GC online, it was detected as fraud transaction and I had to call and speak to someone in person even though I verified via the automated system. The second time was also stopped but was able to complete the verification without having to speak to someone. This seems strange as I have purchased other things online and was not detected as fraud and the GC was relatively small value compared to paying rates online and other purchases. Perhaps they automatically flag it as fraud if you purchase GC online?
  • I have checked the AE exchange rates on purchases and it is very close to the official. The XE rates are also very similar so the only issue is the $20 payment just to pay off the card. I'll probably only use it when necessary (getting welcome points and using Hilton credits).
So that's my experience so far. I'm thinking after a year or so to try and change the address to Australia so any future cards are sent straight here. I haven't applied for the PP that comes with the card either to save the trouble of having to get it forwarded as I have the Charge here that includes unlimited visits (only difference I think is the US cards can take in 2 guests as opposed to 1 with the Charge version here).

Hopefully this will be useful to others and again thanks to a lot of others who shared their experience and steps on what to do.

“Please reply to this email and provide the merchant name and address so we can process this information and allow you to select this package for a shipment. If we do not hear from you within 4 business days, your package will be removed from your account”

What did you guys put?

Can you maybe send them your first statement? also maybe ask amex for the details where it was dispatched from .

Information that I saw in a couple of video clips appeared to show the sender address as Omaha, Nebraska, on the envelope. Also, there’s this (showing a good copy of the Amex envelope):

Not sure if MyUS would really want to know from where the card was actually sent, maybe an Amex Corporate address would do. What do you think?

Thanks for this. I've seen a couple of Youtube videos and the addresses are the same. I think I might just use this address then.

Edit: Logged into MYUS and can actually see that it's under "Ready to Send". Actually has photos of the address of the AMEX envelope from Omaha, Nebraska.

Should MyUS come back to you about a valuation, there are at least two posts on this, upthread. From memory, someone said $5 and another $1. Technically it’s at zero cost, but something to think about maybe.

I can see they have put $1 value. I've just checked I have free 2 year premium membership since 2018.. saved me a little when I click ship out using DHL
 
Can one apply for additional us Amex cards only 6 months after the first ? And can one have it sent directly to an oz address ?
