Strategy to obtain US Amex

Guess what everyone?

So I applied through a referal link on the Platinum Charge card with a SUB of 150,000 points.

I put in a dummy SSN on the application.

Amex emailed me to say that my application was declined. I called Amex and spoke to the new accounts department and provided my reference number.

They verified my identity and address and I told them I was an existing card account holder. She asked for my SSN which I said I do not have one as I have just relocated.

They accepted my Passport details as "Foreign ID".

She said your card application has been approved and I received an email confirming this.

Does anyone know how to apply for the Platinum Charge with a referal? There are referals around with 150K SUB but require SSN. When I apply through GT only receive 80K points.

I have an upgrade offer for 100K but want to apply for it first then take the upgrade offer in the future to receive SUB twice.

What dummy ssn ? Just random numbers ? Isn’t that risky ?

Going through the hoops of P2 US amex through GT. I have one already and went to apply for another and was declined. I called up and they said they only offer 1 GT per person. Does anyone know if there has been a change in this?

That is the usual rule but people have been working around it .

If you manage to get approved and don't mind juggling a few extra cards, apply for two $0 (not the $50) employee cards using this link: Offer Incentive | American Express US

Each employee card earns 15K MR after $4K spend. It stacks with the sign-up bonus. So put $2K on your main card, $4K on employee 1's card, $4K on employee 2's card & you'll earn 180KMR in total.

You can put yourself down as an employee.
Genius

For those that have successfully applied for Chase Credit cards what email address did you send requested information to (i.e bank statement and passport)? I have called human recon line as I got the 7-10 days message after applying for CSP. After entering my ITIN and automated voice advised they had sent me a letter requesting more information that I should receive in up to 7 days. I have a MyUS address with legacy mail subscription so I will receive the letter but thought If there was a standard Chase applications email address I would just go ahead and email the documents.

Call Chase and they'll email you the request. The letter is just asking you to call anyways.

I recently got mine - Chase suspected it wasn't me applying so they'd declined it. I called them and they said it was too late, I'd need to start my application again. I've moved on but may revisit Chase.

Learning from this experience - call Chase in good time to confirm that it was you who applied, and no one has stolen your identity, or they will expire your application.

I didn't realize asking them to email the letter was an option as I took my time to get MyUS to send me my mail to space it out a little and save on their exhorbitant costs to get the mail forwarded to AU. Guess that's what I get for being too fiscally minded. Wish there was a way to take a peek inside your mailbox.

guys any creative way of using Hilton Surpass $50 quarterly credit. Don't have any planned stay at Hilton's for next 6-8 months so can't go the prepay route..looked at GC option at Hilton Syd but they seems to be specific to the property and not the generic Hilton GC with min card value of 150 or 250 from memory...don't want to go for a meal either but if that's the only way then might as well...any DP's..

Don’t they give you the Option to email letters like planet express does ?

Not that I know of- when I asked, they said they couldn't look at them which I take it as code for "you're welcome to pay the shipping and we'll send them to you". That's fair enough, it's their business but I didn't really want to waste $30 to get snail mail delivered too soon after my last delivery so I just waited not knowing what it was.

Just got approved for Bonoy Brilliant card - hoping that I'll get some upgrades on my upcoming trips and otherwise will get $300 in monthly dining credits and $100 St Regis credit to help defray the cost. I didn't get pop up jail this time but created a new login just to be sure. I can see my Bonvoy # is not showing in the online portal so not sure if that will reflect in the fullness of time or they will create a new membership for me which would mess things up somewhat. Is this "normal"? Am I likely to get the SUB? I had got the pop up message when I applied earlier then applied using a link from Points Guy site and it got referred - they wanted ITIN letter and Passport which I provided.

They reckon will receive the card at MyUs on Monday - I'll pay to get it to me in AU from there. I'm wary of asking them to send it to me abroad - does anyone else have experience with this with the Brilliant Card? I'm not excited about the extra transport costs but see it as a "cost of doing business".

Might be out of luck as GC at the property even though they will be specific is basically free so I would be going that option

I still have the grandfathered Priority Pass valid until July 2024. Do I have these quarterly credits right now as well? Or do I have to wait until the next annual fee in July 2024?

I have some stays in April and May I could possibly prepay or maybe points plus pay if I book one now, one in Jan-March quarter and one in April-June quarter.

I am going to apply maza bank and for itin with Google voice number and anytime mail box in USA. Not sure anyone done that before? Any suggestions? Thanks
