I got the GT for P2 with Amex and also Authorized User for my Cap1 card
Thank you

My P2 has no history with Amex Australia except as a Supp Card holder with me
Not sure if that is enough to trigger a relationship with Global Transfer to apply now or need to apply for a card here and wait 6 -12 months then apply as a GT for her

Was it easy getting identified with c1 ? I’m currently having difficulty with the same even though the card has been approved .
except the encounter for sending card oversea, anything else seems ok with Cap1 for me. Asked for OTP sent in phone - received it. Asked to open app and click on YES. I received it without problem. But never able to add card in my phone Wallet.

Thank you

P2 was my AU in the US for 6 years before doing GT and was instantly approved (Did Nova first but stuck at address verification).

Some pros and cons

- P2 will have a credit score and history early.
- P2 will get your credit limit and also balances in her file. This could be a good thing or a bad thing.
- You will be able to transfer MR points to her airline/hotel accounts.
- Chase's computer will see it as a new account and count against 5/24 for her but she can call recon and explain to get approved.

Thanks for the info Finale, seems like there are options but always consequences
Thank you for explaining them.

P2 was my AU
Am I correct in this means she was Authorised User - as in you had a Amex card for 6 years with her here in Australia prior to applying for card via GT with her as the primary card holder - I may have been using "AU" meaning Australia but I gather you have a different meaning

Sorry I meant Authroized user in the US, not in Australia. I believe she will have to signup for a card here first. I edited the message.

My case is different as I had a checking account which was blocked . Now on entering my itin it leads to to this locked online profile which I cannot reactivate .

Had the exact thing happen to me - was new to chase and they closed all my accounts when I was in Bora Bora. Who cares what the letter says. Call 1800 290 1316 this is the Fraud team and explain that you're accounts were closed and want to be transferred to the reinstatement team.

This was my experience:
- I called and explained my situation (new to the US but leveraged my Oz Amex card to get US amex card and that all my recent credit pulls were just for Chase)
- explained how Chase was the best bank and wanted to build history with them
- explained all the charges (DO NOT try and say that the payments were for a friend, but think of how it could be your spend through paying 12 months in advance, etc)
- they said they weren't going to approve my account, but encouraged me to pay off the outstanding balance and not apply for anymore personal card and then call back in 30 days
- did the above and called back. Explained the same story and was approved again with everyone re opened (personal and biz card)

DM me as required
I wonder if the block was because they figured I was buying gift cards to qualify for SUB as my purchases were solely for gift cards from office works . Is this viewed negatively by chase ?

My minimum spend for Chase Ink was done by 80% Officeworks Visa gift cards, 15% Vodafone/Foxtel and random fast food and misc. I was a bit nervous but yesterday my statement posted and I got the SUB and combined it with CSP. I may be in a different category with over 12 years history with Chase, Fico over 800 and SSN. I'm paying a lot more than the minimum required because I basically prepaid all my expenses for the next 3 months in advance with 0% interest.

It's the rapid increase in balances from a person with a thin profile with the bank that's the trigger, not what they're buying.

But I have had 3 personal cards with them since June 2022. No issues . One of them still open even though it does not get used .

I heard Chase could be sensitive with the pattern of your spending ie you normally spend like 1k a month but then suddenly 10k. Was that the case? Since they only closed just one account not all, I believe it wasn't something too serious and shouldn't be too difficult to get it reinstated. You will have to do it within 30 days. Good luck.

They closed my freedom unlimited card as well which I never used . They tend to close all cards . Thanks . I will call them soon .

So HSBC continue to be ridiculous so I'm giving up! This was their latest when I said I'm staying with family and have no bills :

Please provide any 1 of the following documents that shows your permanent address in US:
• Gas, water, electricity or landline phone bills, issued within the last 3 months.
• Bank statement from the last 3 months.
• Pay slip within the last 3 months.
• Current lease security agreement. Note: Month-to-month leases are not acceptable.
• Current homeowners/renter’s insurance bill/policy.

Ok, today marks 2 weeks since application and docs submitted and Chase said they are still reviewing the documents and will get back to me in 1-2 weeks with a decision.

Need some advice here. CS agent and verification agent seems unable to transfer me to anyone else or expedite the process. This seems unusual compared to the other DPs here.
Unfortunately I think I’ve hit a roadblock. Automated line changed to 7-10 business days. After calling I was transferred to the security team, but this time they did not allow me to answer questions to authenticate myself. My Talkatone and (new) Tello did not work to receive OTP. The agent sounded like the application will not be progressed at this point

HUACA yielded the same result. The second agent suggested I go into a branch will ID and they’ll have to resubmit the application :(. Guess I’ll try again with a CSP in a month I suppose

Spoke to them . Asked the reason I had so much spending and at officeworks and credit enquiries .asked me to pay off at least half the balance and call back .

Best to keep US credit card utilisation below 30% (and below 10% if possible) to help with the credit score, according to some advice that I’ve read.

So, maintain high available credit, but low utilisation. Sounds odd to us in Oz, but that’s how it works apparently.

I’ve given up on CapitalOne. They froze my checking account and it took months to get refunded the balance. Nothing nefarious on my part. Fortunately, it did not affect my $350 sign-up bonus. I never got to the point of having any of their credit cards, although that was a goal at one point. Reports in the US indicate that their algorithm determines fraud for no obvious reason. Quite frustrating.

It was at 15 % overall except for 100 % on my citi card because of a promo bt offer .
