There isn't enough room to put 'For Further Credit', so I changed it to 'FFC' and the transfer went through fine.

I have a USA entity (LLC) and would like to get a business card to start putting our advertising spend directly on the US amex.

I'm trying to apply via the transfer program, but am finding that it will only load my account details for personal USA cards. When I try to apply for a USA business card, it won't take my details and directs me to call a number.

Are others finding the same? I'd rather try to apply online if at all possible.

Just a PSA for anyone with Hilton AMEX cards before 7th July 2020. Main takeaway is add the offer to your card and you can "get a free night certificate after spending a minimum of $5,000 (roughly $7k AUD) by December 18, 2020". Seems pretty good if you are going to use the card for normal everyday spending anyways!!

Just for info . I referred my wife for the free Amex everyday card using GT second one after the Aspire . Used her cousins US address but it won’t be received since she has since moved .
So We called them after a lot of verification and providing her AU - supplementary card ( for my account ) and preciously closed Hilton card details and. The fact that they could call back on my text now us number while on the call to them . They have agreed to send a replacement to Australia by dhl .

I am hoping to receive a form 1099 - misc for this and other referral so I can file a return and apply for an ITIN .
we can refer each other for subsequent cards we apply for - even through GT.
I have placed a referral link in the referral forum .

I was able to redeem a $100 (of the Aspire $250) travel credit by loading cash into United TravelBank. Be mindful to do only 1 transaction. I did a test transaction of $100 with no way of adding more cash to the travelbank.
The TravelCredit meter on Amex Benefits now at $150 and also received $100 credit. The purchase showed up with x7 points.
Doing another transaction worth $100 for my wife's United account.

I heard they are fixing the bug. Hope it's okay soon. Some people said they had to wait a few days. It was probably the bonus they offered eailer that caused this bug.

Normally you can change airlines in Jan but I did live chat and got it changed with no issue.

I have a feeling this won't last long. Hope it lasts until early next year when we can get new credits.

I was advised by United that the problem was resolved and that I should be able to add the funds now but doesn't work yet.
Yes, just the matter of time before Amex pulls the plug

Good tip on the airline credit, was wondering what to do with it given the border shutdown.

Perhaps time for a AFF catch-up in LAX in 2021? :)

On a more serious note, has anyone figured out what to do with the $250 Hilton Aspire resort credit? It's going to expire in January and I can't see us being able to travel interstate to use the credit.

I will be very surprised if inter-state borders did not open by Jan 2021, but yeah, no guarantees. But the issue about finding a resort to make use of the Aspire credit is going to be an ongoing headache for Australians.

The GC property is crying out for renovations, and the one across the ditch in Queenstown is kinda just ok. The restaurant is shared with the Double Tree next door and on some mornings the wait for breakfast can easily extend 30 minutes or more. That was my experience anyway.

I am in Queensland and I used at Hilton Surfer Paradise for the room charge and got the credits back, no issues.

Some conjecture on whether GT works for subsequent cards. Going by your experience, it would appear you can get more than 1 via this route.

Would be interesting to see whether anyone else can replicate the experience (ie. getting a second card via GT), I remember GT explicitly states you can only get your first card this way, it would open up a lot of possibilities if you can get more than one card in the same country via GT.

Or could one also apply for a Uk card through GT like I did . Then use the UK card to apply for another US card through GT ?
So if you are supposed to apply for only one card how do people apply for subsequent Amexes ? Is a credit file created even without an SSN / ITIN ?

Someone else on here mentioned that he got his second US card through GT from India .

I was able to add more $$ just now :) Did my first one on Sunday and the meter moved today. Shouldn't be too fast with my Aspire credits and bought AA miles as I was worried that one might be gone as well. Hope this lasts a bit. Was quite fun using those AA gift cards in the US.

So a bit of an update for anyone needing to apply via phone for a business card. I can apply for a personal card on the website, but I'm after the Business Gold Card for the bonus points on advertising spend.

The number displayed on the US Global Transfer website isn't the right number. After I called and applied (I told the agent this was under the Global Transfer Program) she put the application through. Before it was submitted I asked why we didn't include my existing AU AMEX card in the application. She mentioned there was no field for it. Obviously the card was declined due to no credit history. After a bit of back and forth, I was told the number for the 'Global Transfer Team' is actually 866 929 5160. They're open M-F 6am-4.30PM MST.

This morning I called in, and the gentlemen was very helpful however he picked up immediately that the address I put down was a mailing address and that I needed to have a residential address. No go accepting an international address even during COVID.

I do have a relatives address I can use, but then he said I would also need to supply a utility bill / bank statement connecting me to the address. Aside from this all other things need to match up, SSN / Business Verification / Phones etc.

Any suggestions on trying to get a utility bill? I can try the bank statement, however I'm not listed as an account holder, so need to try that avenue.

Applications are open for 60 days, so for anyone who falls into the same issues, you have that time frame to make changes etc.

Perhaps try call back again to a different agent? Unless the rules are different for business cards, no one ever had this issue for a personal card during a global transfer.

The whole point of the global transfer is to setup a card when you arrive in a new country without a credit history, and requiring all those paperwork defeats the purpose of the Global Transfer program, which is to say you are already an existing customer and hence they can waive the usual requirements.

I can certainly try that. Perhaps it's different for Business cards.

He said they can put another address through, but it would be a waste of time because the process is to check a few things:
- Verify you're at the address (via utility bills)
- Verify the business exists
- Verify the bank account exists.

I may try calling back - and hoping that he didn't leave any notes on my file after the call for the next agent to read...
