Strategy to obtain US Amex

Also a fantastic deal has presented itself on US AMEX cards, go to offers and they have the Motley Fool spend $99.00 and receive $99.00 return but you can also shop through the AA shopping portal and receive 7400 AA miles. I did it yesterday on my Bonvoy Brilliant and Amex sent an email already saying Great News! You just used your Amex offer and my AA shopping has 7400 miles already.

Got 76 offers but this wasn’t one of them unfortunately.

Has anyone used LiveChat when logged in to the US Amex accounts page? Wondering what sort of verification they go through, if at all?

Yes I have used them and was helpful and they must know you are logged on and credentials match as no tough questions I recall.

Or if you want points with other US couriers, I found this website showing a list of couriers you can get the bonus points with and the amount:
Seen the offer a couple days ago but didn't know Chase is there. My portal shows 6,000 point for Sapphire. Thanks

Thanks! Good to know, might give them a chat to see if instant card’s a go.
Try adding some offers to your card. When you next login, other offers may have taken their place.

Ooh, yes excellent idea! I’ll give that a go and report back after, thanks!

Very generous sign up bonuses going on the Hilton cards. I don't stay at Hilton enough to justify the Aspire but Surpass could be a good idea. With the statement credit they are paying us to have the cards this year.

Does the Surpass card comes via courier or mail? Can we use MyUS for this card? I got the Hilton Aspire and tempted to sign up for Surpass for both the sign-up bonus and the free night if I hit 15k spend.

Thanks for pointing this one out - I hardly ever look at US Amex offers. Have signed up. Nothing special so far - will have more of a dig around this weekend. Price is right. Anyone else subscribed to this and been able to access Aussie stocks too? I'm interested in US stocks so not fussed but good to have your cake and eat it too :)

Yes that seems to be the tactic used to maximise the free nights, keep Aspire for benefits and Surpass to earn the free night at 15K spend (2 x nights Maldives?)

Not 100% but would assume just standard letter for $95 card. Is it still possible to receive letters from MyUS? I can never see the option anymore.

I'm paying for that option and have been receiving them. I believe they can and have thrown mail away if we're not paying for that option. I can't see what's in my "mailbox" in the same way I can with Parcels and I'd rather pay for shipping than $US5 for a picture of the envelope. I try to wait until there's a delivery I've been waiting for before getting MyUS to ship mail to me given it's so expensive with volume based pricing. Mail items are usually credit cards - though I received my SPG and Marriott basic cards fine but not my Green card - ended up getting Amex to cancel it and send to my home in Australia which they did as I was "travelling" here.

Has anyone changed (or managed to) their address once the application was approved and card was sent to the US address to their AUS or whichever home country you're in?
Do they call up to verify anything when you did that?

With the latest update on Revolut, those you are on the free tier gets charged a 0.5% fee (or $3.93 per 10,000 AUD) when you try and convert above 9000 AUD unless you are on the other two tiers where there is meant to be unlimited amount of conversion.

Update: just received my Marriott Bonvoy package at MyUS suites earlier this morning. Got it circa 2 days maybe after application. Was shipped from Amex via FedEx. Did what DC3 did (further upthread) and put the APT xx_x-xx_ info in both the primary address field and also the APT field. Seems to work a treat.

MyUS now getting it ready to shipped across to Oz. Will be shipping it via FedEx Priority.

I got it on my Green card but not my Marriott Bonvoy and Marriott Business. I guess these are offered to only Amex cards and not co-branded Amex cards

Bad news from Chase - 3rd party payments (Yakpay etc) are going to be treated as cash payments. Lot of DP on the net.
Damn, I was planning of applying for one.

Thanks for the DP. Yeah it’s still not showing up, I’m still checking every now and then to see if it comes up. I keep getting these Motley Fool ads and wouldn’t mind see what they’re all about.

My Amex Hilton Aspire card has the Motley Fool offer, as posted by PointsLife1. Registered, applied via AA shopping portal, and have received confirmation emails from Motley Fool and AA. So far, so good.

I'm thinking of going for the Marriott Bonvoy AMEX for my partner via the nova credit route. Question for those who have multiple US cards, would you need to declare them if for example you are going to apply for a home loan here in Aus? I know with CCR everything you have in Australia can be seen by the lenders however not sure about overseas credit.

Overseas credit will not show up on Australian credit reports, whether you needs to declare them or not will depend on the lender so it's best if you ask them directly.

Has anyone added additional users (i.e. Authorised Users) to their cards from the US? It says that they must use their SSN to validate when activating their cards.

Can anyone comment on what they did for activation?
