Strategy to obtain US Amex

Have not been approved yet . Read here it’s quite difficult also they can close your account of you have a non us address
Will be interested to hear how you go.

Tempted to just stay with Chase as they are simply amazing at dealing with international customers, but some of Citi's transfer partners are appealing (eg Turkish, Cathay, Choice).

Has anyone here gotten more than one US Amex charge/credit card? I used global card relationship to get a US Gold card after moving to the US, but can't get any other cards now because Amex requires a US tax return to prove income (which I won't have til year-end). I also no longer have an AU card so can't use global card again. No biggie as I can get Chase/Cap1 cards but just curious as to others' experiences.

Wait and try again after a while .

I have a U.S. Citi Premier card. I think the bonus categories are similar to those for CSP & are relevant to me.

There’s a lot of attention given to the CSP. Is there something I’m missing with the CSP? What is it that makes it stand out in the card landscape (sorry if this is a silly question but haven’t figured it out myself yet).

Compared to the Citi Premier? Transfers to the best hotel program for points redemptions (Hyatt) & ability to accumulate massive amounts of points through Ink cards are the main ones. CSP itself isn't anything special.

So I tried applying for a supplementary card online but got a message for a result within 14 business days (as opposed to 48h on live chat). 48h passed and I went on live chat and was told supplementary cardholder needs to have a US address. Is that the same experience for anyone who has applied for a supplementary card afterwards?

I've just reapplied again and put MYUS address and suite number, and got the standard message (14 days) again. Should I call instead?

For me I have the UA card which gives expanded availability especially on BNE-SFO although I am only booking Y. My ultimate destination for next years trip involves northern Brazil - Manaus and Guyana. I can get BNE-SFO-MCO-VCP-MAO for 66k UA miles. It all depends on your goals which cards suit you best.
UA partners with Azul so I can get to pretty much anywhere I want in Brazil via SFO and MCO.

Citi Premier is up to 75k. I'd be all over this except I would lose the Chase CSP due to being 4/24 and I need more UA miles.
what about the chase United biz card ?

Does anyone know if the dining etc cashback features of the Cap 1 SavorOne cash rewards card will work outside of USA ? (Actually i am also interested in hearing if other US cashback credit cards will work outside of the US too)

Ironically I am preapproved for 2 of the Ink cards but the minimum spends are way too high for me. Chase's business line-up seems to be like this. Many years ago I had an Ink that transferred to FF programs but cancelled it. I used to have a CSP back in 2012-2015ish.

Don’t think the min spend for the biz United card is too high .

CSP:
3 pts/$1 spend on ONLINE grocery stores which Citi doesn’t, Citi only counts supermarkets. There are many online shopping sites are classified as groceries and you earn 3 pts with CSP instead of 1 with Citi.

And, You get 10% bonus points of total purchases made the previous year, works like St.George Signature Amplify Visa card here.

More transfer partners than Citi and other cards except Amex. Also, their customer support is super helpful and easy to deal with for international customers like me.

However, with Citi card you get 3 pts at Gas stations which is helpful for some.

Just an update on the chase application.

Looks like I was denied due to fraud after submitting documents. Asked for ID and ITIN. Apparently afterwards it was still denied. Seems like I've getting the ring-a-round with reps telling me different things.

They asked that I re-apply again in the future and that in-person application might be helpful.

Does anyone know how long should I wait before re-applying?

On the credit reporting front, looks like Amex re-reported one of my cards to EQ and that has semi-fixed the problem. Waiting for the next statement for Aspire to report to EQ and hopefully that fixes my EQ report.

Anyone have any ideas how to get an Experian credit report?

Will Chase have any issues with a MyUS address and using GV for contact?

From above posts, it looks like verification texts don’t come through but should still be able to do verification questions maybe?

Yikes, did you get your credit reports sorted? I recall you had some issues with them all lining up? I haven’t spoken with Amex about adding my ITIN to my existing cards but I assume that should be possible? Not sure if my ITIN has linked to my credit reports yet either. Lol.

I've given up on my credit report with EQ. It looks like every time Amex reports to EQ it fixes it so thats a good sign.

I've read other cases with Chase re fraud. It seems very sporadic and random so I'll give chase a break before circling back. It seems like they value customers with existing relationships with them so I might consider opening a checking account with them.

Re ITIN with Amex, unfortunately you can't add it. You can apply for a CC and have it linked then.

If you are travelling to the US anytime soon, you can also try opening up a card in branch. That should allow you to deal with any fraud flags fairly easily.

I think my new AMEX Everyday card is lost in the mail (Supposed to have arrived at my MyUS address 3 days ago and i think it was shipped on the 20th of March via USPS) Unfortunately the AMEX tracking link is not working too. (Also no USPS tracking number since this card is non premium)

If i were to call up AMEX and decide to get the replacement card to be sent to my Australian address, what is the usual procedure ? Do i have to give them a copy of my Australian drivers license etc ?
Make sure you tick box for small letters and brochures in your us address
