Strategy to obtain US Amex

Interesting! I’ll try this. How did you end up fixing the residential address part?

When sending in the ITIN application I can see it had my applicant mailing address (US based), but also my foreign (non-US address). Was I supposed not to fill in the foreign address? The letter from the IRS was sent to my US address and the address is also listed on the ITIN letter

I think that's probably your problem...

That’s interesting. I used SH Studio which lots of other people here also had and she asks for a foreign address and says the US one is optional but that foreign is needed the way I understood it.

I used Aus address with ITIN and have still been successful using it for additional verification for Amex Business cards and Chase cards so far.

I dont know which part went wrong but apparently after went thru ID.me process (A video call with a real person to see me holding my real ID - passport and driver license). I logged in and could see my wrong Australian address - address is wrong at the number. Number is 17 but the number within IRS is 117.
Anyway, I call IRS number and told them that's not supposed to be there but should be US address. They changed it. That's my case -

Your situation could be different.

Change the timezone on your computer to a US timezone. Refresh the page. Voila.
any tips on getting the Hilton FNC tracker working?
The 15k FNC tracker on my Hilton Biz has disappeared starting this year, support is clueless.
Interestingly, on the surpass the tracker is still visible and works fine.
Not a big issue as I can always filter the transaction by year to calculate the spend, but would be nice to have it working again...

I applied for a Chase Sapphire with 11 months of credit history. I kept getting the error of “ITIN mismatch” when calling. No idea why.

I’m starting to wonder if this is because I actually have a Chase account that I opened using my passport (and ITIN was not provided when I opened it). I could see the status of the application on my Chase account opened with my passport. Could this be why? I understand I can get my ITIN attached to my Chase account but that it would have to be done in person. Anyone have any experiences?

I now have 14 months of credit history and a strong credit score. I really want to get the IHG card ASAP. I was thinking of making the trip to the US to fix this in person and apply for the CC in the branch but then I read cobranded cards typically can’t be opened in the branch (only cards like Sapphire).

I have the same issue. After I called, they could fix it manually and approved. They had to read IRS disclaimer. Happened on my last 3 applications. It might have something to do with the bureaus they pull and your ITIN is not in the credit file. I'm not sure if Ex and TU list ITIN in the file like EQ. Chase normally pulls EX and TU for my state.

I was actually on chat on Wednesday about this. They see this as an error and trying to fix it.

You can chat with amex and they will give you the amount, albeit annoying to do

Finally trawled through all the posts....only took a couple of weeks.

Will try GT for Aspire in not too distant future.
Have a tello number already
Will ask a friend in the US if I can use his address

Anything I am missing?

BoA are good for Alaska biz cards (put $5K in a checking account, wait 1 month, apply for 3 Alaska biz cards in 3 different browsers at the exact same time and voila), but not much else so I wouldn't worry. Main thing is to have one checking account that works.
Does BoA accept ITIN when applying online? I had to go in branch and apply as they wouldn't accept ITIN online..

That sounds about right. Assuming 3-6m+ relationship with amex already?

As part of my GT setup, I was going to set up a US transaction account via HSBC Premier...

I had an existing HSBC cc, and applied for Premier, by just transferring in $9k every month. I transferred the funds back out each month (rookie mistake perhaps), and have now been queried "the purpose/clarification of this transfers for the below transaction" as part of them complying with Aus anti-money laundering laws !!

Has anyone else had this ? Any real issue with just coming out and saying that I am transferring the funds in order to maintain fee free Premier status ?

Have you got US Premier bank account yet? I am applying but still havent got it approve for 3 weeks already now - still pending and they asked me for SSN in the recent email.

Could someone share their experience with HSBC US account? Am I doing something wrong? My Relationship Manager confirmed I am Premier customers and can apply but the global team kept asking for more info. Not sure why.

No, I was going to do the transfers for 3 months then apply (perhaps after my GT)

Tbh HSBC really are painful to deal with. They have asked for verified ID as part of that same email - even though I provided them verified ID as part of my credit card application about 6 months ago…

Agree re: HSBC being painful to deal with. It took my partner and I several months to set up a joint Everyday Global Account (mainly for travel purposes) - mainly because we live in the NT and could not simply pop into the local branch to jump through the various hoops.

Once set up, the cards arrived pretty quickly, but my card was somehow defective and I wasted a fair amount of time on phone trying to get the damn thing replaced. (12 months later, it's all working fine, but we both felt that HSBC didn't really seem to 'want' our business)

Chase has asked for a fax with my w-9 form (ITIN). Who uses fax? Anyway has anyone had this? I am worried if it comes from a AU number they will make the process even harder
