Strategy to obtain US Amex

What is the benefit of the Amex checking account ? Can it be used for address verification including for Amex credit cards ?

Just leaving a DP on clear signup Uber promotion. Clear ran a promotion last week giving US$75 Uber voucher for new registrations. I used my Amex Plat as it comes with free clear membership.
I got my Uber voucher this morning and was able to redeem it on the Uber AU app for A$110. its one time use voucher so guess I'll be ordering a big meal and glad to be able to recoup some of the AF this way as AU citizens are not eligible for Clear.

Just received my chase ink business card . Can it be linked to my chase personal card log in account ? What is the process for the same ?

Is this offer still available and can it also be utilised by using clear credit from a green card?

If it is your first business card, you need to make a new login with the business card then call Chase to get your personal cards added to your business login. They will then appear on your business login; the opposite is not possible.

I would think so. New member fee is US$189.
The code I used is now expired. But someone posted code BETTERTRAVEL75 is still working.
check [Expired] CLEAR: Get $75 Uber Voucher On Signup (Free With Platinum Card) - Doctor Of Credit.
I'm going to try signing up via my Aspire card...
Thanks. That code works and the green card has 199 credit for credit plus.

I signed up and it is now saying ' just a few more steps':

"1. Visit any CLEAR Plus airport location—no appointment necessary!

2. We'll add your ID and your eyes or fingerprints to verify your identity.

3. Use CLEAR Plus right away to move through security!"

Did you bypass this some how?

This is offer from HSBC - Do you think this is the CLEAR you are talking about? As CLEAR is not available to Australia I am trying to see what I can scoop out from this HSBC CC.

You will receive one credit of up to $85 towards your Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, TSA PreCheck by CLEAR or NEXUS application fee once every 54 months.

1. Use your HSBC Premier World Mastercard credit card to pay an application fee for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, TSA PreCheck by CLEAR, or NEXUS. The Sentri, FAST and CLEAR Plus Programs are not eligible for a statement credit.

Nope. I just left it at the signup and got the voucher couple of weeks later.
You will receive bunch of emails - 1st would be the confirmation email which for me took a while to come after signup. I was expecting it to be instant but it came few hours later.
1st email will be Welcome to CLEAR, "your name"
2nd email came 5 days later saying thanks for joining clear plus and listed the steps you mentioned as pending.
And then the voucher finally landed this morning. Overall took 10 days for the voucher.
Folks on DOC are saying the voucher for this promo are expected to be dispatched from 7th Sep onwards.

Separately, I signed up my P2 using Aspire credit. Interesting was charged 199 this vs 189 last week.

This is for Clear Plus which costs $199. Based on what you posted looks like HSBC doesnt cover clear plus.

You use the business login to combine UR in one account. I use the CSP. There are surprising bargains in booking non chain hotels using 1.25% in USD. Also good for lesser known airlines or harder to find rewards. Or transfer them to an airline. Last Sept there was 30% bonus transfers to Avios. I hope they do it again. I finished my minimum spend and now have all my bills paid through November and enough gift cards for groceries.

I had a previous business login from 2015 and mine showed up there. Once you get your online business login, there is a link in the left side to link to your personal profile.

Does anyone have a DP regarding successfully using the resort credit by DINING (not staying) at the Hilton Queenstown?

I’m aware it’s pretty hit and miss in the US but I’m not familiar with then property in ZQN, eg don’t even know if the hotel operates the restaurant or if it’s a 3rd party. Don’t really want to be left with the bill for a $300 dinner.

I was there in Jan, but didn't use the restaurant. I know it is attached to the hotel though .

You could ask if you could pay at reception by opening an account with them (I read this somewhere)

Has anyone who just recently got a US amex card been able to access their FICO score on the amex USA site? I tried to enrol and got an error message 16. Do you have to do this with a VPN set to USA? I have no SSN. I did get a letter when they sent out the card saying my Experian score was 713. That must be based on my AU card credit history?

I didn't recently get a US Amex card (I've held one for several years), but my FICO score became inaccessible through the Amex USA and Bank of America (with whom I bank in the USA) sites a few years ago (after being accessible for several years prior). I don't have a SSN (only ITIN). On calling TransUnion I was told that credit scores only attached to SSNs and as I didn't have a SSN, I couldn't get a credit score. This is not quite right (Amex and the banks still report to the credit bureaux, and it is possible to manually request credit reports from the credit bureaux), but the upshot is for some (but not all) people, access to credit scores via Amex or a US bank can disappear when one doesn't have a SSN.

Update on HSBC Premier, credit card is showing up in my US HSBC account, physical card still in the mail somewhere. Hopefully it will get here unharmed.

Next step is to get ITIN and build credit score. A few questions for the brains trust:

1. so that the ITIN is correctly applied to my credit report, should I update my mailing and/or living address in HSBC US so that it matches my address on my ITIN application?

2. How does the ITIN get attached to my credit report? What if I am one of four John Smiths born on 4/20/69? Is address, phone number, etc used?

My experience is that consistency of address records can bear on these matters. If you update address records, make sure you keep a note of when you did that, as you may be asked to confirm that date when requesting a credit report manually (which may become the only way you can do so using an ITIN (rather than an SSN).

I don't know how an ITIN gets attached to a credit report if the ITIN is received after the credit facility is obtained. I opened my US bank accounts and first US credit card (and subsequent Amex cards) after I had an ITIN, so they've been attached to my records from the outset.
