Strategy to obtain US Amex

Is there any Data with it? Does it work as E-Sim? I am not happy with talkatone as it's an app and unless I am on the app when someone calls I cant hear it and always miss the call, Other than that it received all OTP just fine. But then I need Data/wifi for it to work.
You can choose data but monthly fee goes up - i had no need for data - and yes works fine as an eSim and seem to be able to make calls either with Wifi Calling or without from here in Australia

Tello Mobile | The mobile carrier you deserve | No fees, whatsoever If you wanna sign up and earn you (and me) $10

It's good to have back ups, especially if you plan to do any form of manufactured spend as some banks don't like it and will shut you down.
Any thoughts/data points on banks to avoid wrg MS? Playing around a bit, but only have one checking account atm.
Also I have 36 airports with BG that I need to collect (very long story)
This sounds like a painful story 😅

Hard to give a one size fits all answer. Partly depends on your volume — it's harder to move 6-7 figures of money each month than it is to move 4-5 figures of money each month.

But generally, avoid banks where you want their credit cards — as you are more likely to be shut down from a checking account than you are a credit card (due to AML concerns, etc), you don't want a bank account shut down to lead to a credit card shut down. So no one serious about MS uses Amex or Chase checking accounts, for example. Go with banks you don't care about losing.

I am trying to do that too but have no information for porting out as I signed up thru Google Play store. Do you or anyone know where I get below information

Good to know, thanks for sharing that! Currently not an issue for me given my volume, but I can see how that can escalate as you scale up. Might have to plan a US trip as well at some point.

So when on wifi it says using wifi and when only on mobile (4G/5g) it uses Telstra (or whatever carrier)
I don’t need to hotspot at all
It works all the time

When I was travelling and purchased another SIM I turned off Tello and turned off other one, but can turn back on any time

Sorry I just got a new number so didn’t port any number at all

It works on Telstra data
Wifi calling works on data for Tello when not on wifi
This is crazy! I NEVER KNEW THIS! I am with android and will have to work this out tonight SMH

This does not work for me.

I have two theories.
1. This works on iOS only, per some reports
2. I need to buy some data on the Tello and enable roaming to enable dual sim always on standby, then it will work.
I dont have any data on Tello so number 2 doesnt seem to be it
iOS vs Android may be possible issue but doesnt seem logical - wouldn't surprise me

How to activate Wi-Fi Calling on your Tello phone?

↪ To activate Wi-Fi Calling on iPhones go to Settings → Cellular → Wi-Fi Calling → Toggle on Wi-Fi Calling.

↪ To activate Wi-Fi Calling on Android phones, you’ll generally find Wi-Fi settings under Settings → Networks & Internet → Mobile network → Advanced → Wi-Fi Calling → Toggle on Wi-Fi Calling.

from here What is Wi-Fi Calling and how does it work?

Seems to work with Optus too. again I have no tello data
So both of us are on Apple - works irrespective of network - must be an Android workaround I hope
