Strategy to obtain US Amex

I know nobody can give tax advice here - but if one were to declare US interest to the IRS with your ITIN should you also declare on AU return? I see the tax treaty should stop you paying tax twice - but seems like a big faff for a piddly amount of interest…..
It's still reported in the AU return. You just claim back any tax paid to the US as a tax offset.

Thank you! May be more notable as I’ve just signed up as a Fora Travel advisor and commissions are paid in USD so I’ll whack those into my US checking account

The first insurer I tried asked for a SSN before they would give me a quote, but the second one didn't (and has taken payment/issued the policy, so I suspect they won't ask about it now). Perhaps it's not a strict requirement, or depends on where they are domiciled? BTW, happy to update the thread with who I used once I hear back from AMEX (and/or if anyone wants to know now, happy to answer by PM).

Thanks for this. I think HSBC has enhanced the Relationship Manager offering to the point where their identity is anonymous these days; but I might give the Premier number a call tomorrow and ask.
i got contacted by an RM about 1 month ago over email, my wife opened an account about 1 month after me and hasn't heard anything from anyone. I tried opening an account for her in the US and had to give them my RM's details hopefully he can sort it for her.

P2 has been approved for hsbc premier cc . Card showing in account . Does anyone know if it can be added in Apple wallet or digital card no received before physical card is received ?

the previous Chase Sapphire Preferred with extra $300 Travel Spending credit - all the history on web saying finished Nov 14th. Even Chase rep. However, I was sure I still saw it available when I applied on Nov 27th and got approved 2nd week of December. Talked to 2 Chase customer service reps they confirmed I am not qualified for $300.

I went ahead and booked a hotel for $170 on their Travel portal thinking I was gonna get the usual $50 Travel credit. But voila, statement credit came back and I got that 100% - so eventhough the offer was confirmed finished Nov 14 - however it was still on their website - I still got that offer. YAY.

Also, Got Pepper Reward statement credit offers on 2 of my Amex - Spend $75 - get $35 back - pretty good deal for 2x$75 Giftcards for my up coming AirBnB stay. Also, because of US AirBnB Giftcards cant be redeemed for my Australian AirBnB account , I had to open another AirBnB account with US Address. Been collecting AirBnB giftcard from Staple - Amex Biz Gold credit.

I think I recall being able to add it before receiving it - unlike Amex where I’ve always not been eligible for their instant card number thing

Anyway to buy in Australia? I always get a payment declined message when ordering.

I just got Amex Hilton Card and was able to add instantly online to Apple wallet
Oh they must not like me then - for Surpass, Gold and Aspire they say please contact card services when i tried/try and do it. A pain because all my cards are still over in the US at a family address (though they send me pics of front/back when they receive them)

Yes this seemed to be first time I got this but this is first time I got instant approval so not sure if that changed anything
They send you an email but it doesnt work on wifi but reddit told me to try on a phone with mobile data and it worked perfectly

You have to login to the website under card services and add to google pay

Have people succeeded in getting a CLI on the Amex US cards? Tried applying for one and got rejected - said they couldn't locate my credit file (to be fair just did a Nova Credit application and this was ~90 days in).
