Strategy to obtain US Amex

My Amex Plat did not give me 5x on Qantas Marketplace. Just 1x. Is your one Biz or Personal? I just checked my Biz Plat - even buying United Flights directly with United just give me 1x. Lifemiles and Avianca transaction give me 1x

Biz Plat doesn't have 5x flights, only 5, flights on amex travel iirc

Applied surpass with WB in last year just Got offer to upgrade my surpass to aspire for 150K points
Just apply and got approved for hh non annual fee with eligibility WB
No language yet for Hilton jump in now don’t sleep it’s so easy with free points

Advice on shipping to AU

My US Global Mail has received the first letter from Amex. I assume the next step is to ship it to AU (or is it better to ask USGM for a scan and then load the card nr to Apple Wallet)?

If shipping is next:
1. Is there a way to figure out if the letter contains the card? I've been approved, the letter is 0.13 lbs and the Amex address on the letter is 'Plantation FL' if that would help
2. What shipping option do people usually choose?

USPS First Class Mail International (non-trackable) is $9
FedEx International Connect Plus (trackable) is $55
DHL Express is $126

can get them to scan for free and confirm if card - if so you can then choose shipping options - If card that you want middle option feels expensive but at least traceable

did you receive an approval email already? It could be a request to call them to verify your name, i had to upload passport and bank statement for P2.

as mentioned, you should have 25 free scans per month so just request this before sending. usually takes a couple of hours for them to scan but i've usually requested this morning Sydney time. not sure of later in the day could delay it.

If its a card delivery then you would have received some sort of email from Amex saying your card has been shipped? If not, call Amex and check on app status.
If it indeed its the card that has been delivered then ask US Global mail to destroy/discard the package.
Call Amex on the 11th day (not sure if it biz days or calendar days) after card approval, ask them to ship card overseas as you are travelling.

Likely just a follow on from your recent FR. Amex have determined they're only willing to lend you so much money, and applying that to your newest card.

Any recent DPs Amex checking account? Applied and they requested docs.

Submitted ITIN letter and Aus Passport 24 hours ago and still haven't heard anything back.

Tried a couple months ago for P2 but they wouldn't take those 2 docs, same as last year. After uploading, they will send another email asking for docs again. I tried to upload about 4 times and gave up. Got Sofi for P2 instead and approved straight away.

Chase accepts Sofi statement as a proof of address?

All seems a bit odd, doesn’t it? You seem to have somehow attracted unwanted attention from Amex.

Not sure really. But during FR, I made a mistake that giving newly open Chase Checking statement where I did not have a lot of transactions/deposit. It was silly me. I simply thought they wanted to verify address v.v. but they did use those limited transactions as my income. Then, surprisingly I got approved 1 month after FR for Biz Plat- but after having it for 4 months this Biz Plat got limit as well.

Its one of reasons I try to make all my money coming from US go via Amex Checking at some point - at least this way they have a good clear history of money coming via them - I cycle money around accounts a bit too to help pad the other bank statements

My advice from my meagre experience is the mail forwarding won’t touch your card for fraud / privacy requirements. But they can forward the letter. Now ask yourself how much do you really need to spend? 9$ is sometimes very quick and is ideal if your not bothered by potential delays. I have used FedEx and they quote 4-5 days but it can be longer. DHL - used to be much cheaper. Hope it helps.
