We have Suite Savers MEL-SIN then SIN-LHR booked for June - well I thought we did - had not checked this booking for mths but just did and notice seat changes.

SQ306 seems subbed 380 to 77W - so we get to try SQ new F - anybody here actually experienced SQ new F as yet?

LHR-SIN-LHR is changing quite a bit recently

SQ308/SQ319 which is the new 777W is/was cancelled on quite a few days in Dec & Feb - So keep an eye on it........

I was booked on SQ319 specifically try the new F but received an email saying I was moved to the earlier flight 777W Old F.....

Rang KF from the SQ SIN lounge and was moved to the A380 later departure.. So I went from New F, to Old F and then Suites

Got the try new J on Sin to LHR on Xmas day. We were the only passengers(wife+ 2kids) in business class. Very impressed with product and had a comfortable 7 hour sleep.Crew was almost more excited than us about the new plane. There were no passengers in F but I was originally booked in F with rest of family in J but ended up using lifemiles for a business seat instead few days before the flight.
However, did have issues with the entertainment system hanging in my seat few times. I was not fussed but did get given $200 voucher for in flight duty free which my wife promptly found a good use for.

Just booked my parents their first Suites flight - MEL-xSIN-xLHR-xFRA-BUD (SQ 77W F / SQ 388 R / LH 321 J / LH 733 J) - for late this year :-)

Has anyone done the 0045 from SIN to SYD? Wondering if they do a full service or if they expect everyone to sleep the whole time.

The later flight to MEL (23:xx-ish) is usually badged as "supper" and "breakfast" with the service encouraged to be either one or the other (but they will serve both)...

FWIW, the catering is not as good as the 21:xx departures.

Just booked my first SQ suites saver:cool:.
Excited would be an understatement.
For some time I have had a SQ F trip booked from FRA to MEL at end Jan 14. Both legs were originally 77W as no 380's were available .
Casually flicking thru some other availability for later in the year I happened to check my dates again and low and behold 380 suite saver SIN to MEL on SQ227. On the phone to kris flyer within milliseconds and the seat was mine. Reserved 3A on Cruiser Elites recommended Krug drinking rules. And the grin is only matched by that of the Cheshire Cat!
I shall sleep well tonight.

Out of interest how was this booked? As a single booking through SQ. Two bookings or?

Point cost?
Thanks.

Single itinerary - must be booked over the phone when *A partner airlines are involved. The agent I spoke with was fantastic - I read out the flights I wanted, she said she'd call me back once she checked the itinerary was allowed (she wasn't sure initially if the backtracking on the last two segments would be OK), she called back within 30 minutes and we booked it there and then.

Re points cost, the "partner award" points table applies with a hybrid SQ/*A award, but in the case of Australia - Europe the nominal points cost (as per points table) is the same as a straight SQ award booking - 132,500 points/pax, one way. However, no 15% online discount for "partner award" redemptions, so actual points cost was 15% higher than it would have been if the itinerary had stopped in LHR (132,500 points/pax rather than 112,625 points/pax).

On a completely different note, the agent seated my parents in the middle pair of seats in row 2 on the 388 - is there any reason the middle pair in row 3 is preferable? Or do people just go for row 3 because you can't select row 2 online?

Thank you.

And I agree I have always found the SQ phone staff fantastic when I ring up to make *A bookings.

For more complicated bookings, it does pay to do your research first ( like you did ) to point them in the right direction. ie I brought a daughter back from Ghana to MEL all in J. There are lots of different routes back, and so I had worked out the most flight friendly.

Another time I have also had them ring back after their first search had no availability to say that they had secured 3 J into Paris on Thai (SQ were booked out).

I have never been able to select Row 2 online. Always blocked. Not sure why your folks were given them. They're both fantastic. I slept in 2 dined in 3 last time!

Duffa 2C/2D are indeed 'bassient seats' and are blanked out from selection for online bookings.

BUT - you can readily book these via a phone call if you so desire - however just bear in mind you may have to move seats if indeed 'bassinet seeking' pax require them.

I always prefer to sit in back rows of Suites or Std F solely because I am a sticky beak - I just like to have as much vision of the entire cabin as I can - and I am RHD so it's 3C for me in Suites or 2C in Std F. Indeed 2C/2D basically same same 3C/3D.

3C is also a less "complicated" walk to the larger washroom ;)

hi team,

i'm looking to book a suites flight in April for 2 pax connecting through to DEL. If i pull it up for 2 pax i get waitlist for both saver and standard, however if i do it for just 1, it shows availability for both saver and standard. i'm happy to pay saver for 1 and standard for the 2nd seat, if it will be available.

would the best bet to be to call krisflyer and confirm that there are 2 seats available? i feel more than a little uncomfortable booking the saver online and then hoping that the standard remains!

thanks!

Yes by all means call them - make sure you explain you see availability online but unable to book - they should still honour 15% disc - ALL KF call centre staff are well and truly aware of SQ web site failings.

Book the Saver first and then the Standard next and you will be fine in 99 % of the time. I have never missed on my last 10 sets of one ways. In fact I cannot remember it turning out poorly.
At worst you may have to cancel the Saver if the Standard vanishes but that is really unlikely OR go on two Savers a flight apart (that is, not on the same plane by a few hours and save the points if you are running tight on points numbers).
Better do a Suites run this month and next to say G'day LA.
Today I helped a Kris Flyer member get set for his first Suites run because it was a day off. I have three of these now not counting weekends.

Tears.

I had to cancel my two confirmed Suite Saver return Fares to Hong Kong for the Rugby 7's, and suite for Mrs Hammando and I at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental today.

We are going to the Singapore GP later this year with three other couples, where we managed to snag 2 Suite Saver fares, 5 business saver fares and one business standard, which helps lessen the blow, but still tears.

Hi tdogshookem,

Depending on the day, you may find that one of the A380s has more availability than the other - also depends on what flight you need to connect from SIN to DEL.

I would suggest that the one seat you are seeing is actually the one and the same. What I have done in the past, where you are one seat short - go through the motions of booking two in Saver - they will come up as waitlist. Once it is booking in, give KFF a call and ask them to put on a chaser for the waitlist. You may like to tell them you saw one available on the website, however, require two. When calling through to KFF, they have always been knowledgeable and more than willing to assist and action requests.

As you will initiate, and then finalise online - you are still eligible for the 15% online discount.

You may find you have some movement in 24-48 hours, I have received an SMS and email to advise 'your waitlist has been confirmed'.

Wishing you best of luck.

Jimmy

I have just upgraded our flights MNL-SIN, SIN-SYD at the end of this month from J to F.

MNL-SIN in a refitted 777 and SIN-SYD on A380, both , 2C,2D.

Changed them over the phone, but still got the 15% discount on the difference.

Very happy

Just debating now whether to tell my wife, or let it be a surprise.
