First time go the surprise.
I did that with my niece and she still talks to me about it. It is so difficult for a 15 year old girl to not tell her school chums.

Tears.

I had to cancel my two confirmed Suite Saver return Fares to Hong Kong for the Rugby 7's, and suite for Mrs Hammando and I at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental today.

We are going to the Singapore GP later this year with three other couples, where we managed to snag 2 Suite Saver fares, 5 business saver fares and one business standard, which helps lessen the blow, but still tears.

Naturally, ... you'll give the other couples first dibs on the Suites??....................
.......................................NOT!

Friends

I managed to grab 2 Suite Savers from Paris for early 2015.

One of us (party of 3) will have to be in J - initially.

No more saver left, so after a day I have now decided to grab a Standard and cancel the J ticket.

Three of us will be together in F / Suites from Paris to Sydney.

Thanks folks for helping make this a reality.

I have just upgraded our flights MNL-SIN, SIN-SYD at the end of this month from J to F.

MNL-SIN in a refitted 777 and SIN-SYD on A380, both , 2C,2D.

Changed them over the phone, but still got the 15% discount on the difference.

Very happy

Just debating now whether to tell my wife, or let it be a surprise.

Most definitely let it be a surprise?

Last week we went Suites on A380 to Los Angeles and it was brilliant. Even Mrscove went the two Suites per person and she reminded me of Sleeping Beauty.
To match her on board dinner I went to Costco and bought gift vouchers to McCormick and Schmick's and Flemings for $79.99 for $100 of cards to save on lunches and dinners seeing the Aussie dollar is moving lower.

I told my wife this morning that we were going 1st class.
She was very pleased
Good flight from Manila new 777,only 4 In the cabin.
Currently sitting in The Private Room drinking Champagne and eating a Wagyu burger. On SQ221 in Suites leaving in an hour and a half.

Deka2 we were 7 and then 5 in the twelve Suites so five others and then 3 others.
I hope Mrsdeka2 enjoyed the walk at Changi to go past the business lounge, then past the First lounge to get to The Private Room.

Just returned from Paris in suites with my 15 year old daughter to Sydney.

She was stunned at the opulence and the Private Dinning room at SIN.

Suites are still my number 1 choice in F Class A380

May it continue ;)))

PS She is a lucky girl !!

You are so setting up her future partner !

Any one tried those F class seats in 777-300 (refitted) planes? Are they as good as the ones in 777-300 ERs?

The configuration is the same 1-2-1 in these old refitted planes.

Many thanks.

Yes Cove Mrs Deka2 had a wonderful time.
We kept looking at each other in amazement that it was real.
I said to Mrs Deka2, I don't know how to top this.

We were originally booked on SQ231 leaving at 00.45, which gave us a 7 hour layover.
When checking in at MNL I asked if we could be moved to SQ221 leaving at 20.40.
The Agent went away for about 10 minutes and came back with the good news that our change had been approved, seating in 3C3D.
That gave us a 3 hour layover, just enough time to do some shopping and then off the TPR.
During the flight from MNL the layover at SIN and flight to SYD we had three different types of Champagne.
Dom Perignon 2004
Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame
Krug Grande Cuvée

All were good, but I think we need to do it again to be sure which we like the best!

Deka2 that sounds like you two may become pretty hooked. I tried Emirates Suites and although it had the Hollywood finish I was more comfortable on SQ Suites. Yes I had the caviar and 4 glasses of the Krug on the way to LAX from SIN with SQ.
Going to SLC on Delta in Y and it will be hello Grand America for a work trip using Expedia so either we got the room or the flights for free in the package. The flight should be sardine city.

Sounds like a great trip :)

I'm so glad I made the decision once I started working and applying for credit cards to channel my points earn to SQ. Need to be in SIN in a few months, hopped on kris flyer today and got myself saver business awards with a choice of every flight available! Probably fortunate with the timings, but I'd have no chance with Qantas as a lowly bronze.

I have never been able to select Row 2 online. Always blocked. Not sure why your folks were given them. They're both fantastic. I slept in 2 dined in 3 last time!

Thanks for the info!

what tool did you use to find the flights you wanted?

Sorry for the super-duper-slow reply - in the middle of moving house so the last few weeks have been... hectic.

I used the SQ website to find the SQ flights - that's the only way to do it, as SQ release far more seats to KrisFlyer members than *A partners (which is what other search tools would see).

For the LH flights LHR-BUD I just used AwardTravlr - very easy to use, and my go-to tool for searching across whole alliances.

Interesting one yesterday - tried to get F saver then Suite PEK-SIN-MEL for Feb 24 - SQ227 on 380 shows unavailable but 217 77W and 237 773 show available - times don't really suit though.

So I searched PVG-SIN-MEL and lo and behold 380 227 shows available. So onto phone to Crystal in KF call ctr who chases it up for me and after 5 mins on hold returns to tell me cannot get 227 coupled with any connection ex PEK on that day because PEK pool of Suite savers exhausted.

WOW I did not know that - even on onward connections there is limit of saver redemptions from origin ports - now how does a simpleton like me get his head around that?
