Recently they appear to be interchanging VLGD and Dom in TPR - being ambidextrous no prob to me.
I think they occasionally have shortages. There are some stories of Krug shortages in F/R over on SQ Talk but of course my visitations to Cruisers secondary residence are way less than frequent so I will go with the masters word on interchanging being the issue. They told me on my last visit to the TPR that Cruiser has his mail delivered there as he spends more time in the TPR than he does in his own house;)

They = Cruiserette?

Will actually be spending 4hrs in TPR on Mon Mar 17 - I will quiz staff and get definitive answer re this crucial and exigent question.

I am partial towards the the Charles Heidsieck 2000 out in the SKL F even if it's the lesser champagne. The LGD is also a delicious drop of course, but they didn't mind serving me the CH in the TPR either. Because variety. In fact, I had a bottle to myself (or at least they told me so) as presumably they couldn't be bothered running back and forth to the SKL. Pity it isn't the CH BDM 1995, now that would be one hell of a drop but one musn't be greedy (used to be available onboard QF F). :D

Currently ensconced in TPR enjoying a 'pre flight Dom'. Arrived from PEK at 06:35 and enjoyed an 'arrival Dom' - then showered and enjoyed a 'post shower Dom' - then contempleted brekky over a 'pre-brekky Dom' - enjoyed scrambled eggs and bacon washed down with a 'during brekkey Dom' - then went shopping and got so hot had to return to TPR to refresh with a 'post shopping Dom'.

Now to clarify the Dom V VCLGD query - they are simply out of stock of VCLGD - Dom on tap now in TPR but VCLGD will return in a week or 2 ..........or 3 ...........or whenever. Admirable replacement though IMHO.

Sounds like everything is going exactly according to plan! Trust they will have a suitable variety "on tap" for you for the leg home...enjoy your day! :D

Your life is so complicated Cruiser... I don't know how you do it... I just keep a bottle of Scotch in the drawer at work :p

Slightly OT - not so much though - I clarified access to TPR with the lovely ladies yesterday - all Suites pax have right of access to TPR if transiting - all pax taking o/n flts in F have right of access if transitting - others as staff see fit.

Mind you a little gift goes a long way - here are the BEST little gifts I ever take away with me and hand out to lounge staff / etc or anybody I want to curry favour with:

Nice shiny $1 coin - must be the standard one with the 5 kangaroos on them - I have a contact works in Casino and I get bag of 1,000 uncirculated when I need them. Then on front you super glue a tie pin which you buy for like a buck a hundred:

YES YES I know - defacing the Queens currency is likely to get me life - happy to take that risk though - amazing how people from all countries love these coins.

Have managed to score 2 suite savers for new years eve SIN-CDG. To say my wife and I are excited would be an understatement!!

Huge thankyou to all on AFF because without you I'm sure I would still be doing something silly like directing all my points to QFF, then buying QF Y tickets and playing the upgrade lottery!!!

Any hot tips for the un-initiated???

My tips: Go the Krug and caviar. I like 3A and stay with the main menu rather than Book the Cook are my preferences.
Get very excited and try to stay awake for an hour or two.
I have an empty plastic bag as you usually struggle to fit 2 pairs of PJs in your carry on when you deplane.

If you order BTC, are you still able to choose from the normal menu?

Can I suggest starting with the Dom and then switch to the Krug :)

I think if you smile I think that you could switch without it being a problem.
On our last run all 12 Suites were occupied which I had not experienced before and I knew a group of four had to go J class from Narita to Singapore after starting out in Suites from Los Angeles. Their upgrade requests were unable to be supplied.

Just simple tips - as a couple you need to select 3C and 3D - will become so obvious once on board.

Your first time in Suites so PLAN your flt - spend as many hours of the total journey awake as you can - plan your dep time / arriv time / sleep time - it's your 1st exp in Suites so maximize the exp - remember one day you are going to sleep forever so a 12 or 14 period with little sleep will not kill you.

IMHO if you guys are Lobster fans then YES BTC Lobster Thermidor - if not big fans just go with the surprise of what is on offer - SQ F meals fabulous - you will love it.

Go Dom pre takeoff - Krug post takeoff - then decide what you will stick with. Have a small glass of all wines on offer with meals - do not die wondering. Be 1st to board - max your time - take lots of pics - share some here - above all - LOVE your journey - you will be exp one of life's truly great experiences. On return home show family and friends the pics - it will give you new insight into term ultimate envy!

We're gonna be taking the little bloke with us, so planning on calling up tomorrow to add him to the booking and see if we are first in best dressed for 2C/2D.

You're a classic cove! Will have to try something similar with the PJs!

Is the main menu good??? (of course its good what am I talking about!?) but do we have to 'book the cook' the get lobster thermidor?

Is The Private Room in Singapore good? with the flights I am planning from BNE it looks like we'll have 3-4 hours in Singapore before departure...

We are thinking of flying into Melbourne or Sydney to start our Suites journey thru to Singapore and then to London or Los Angeles. Watch out Cruiser Elite look over your shoulder! Now that long cut actually uses less Kris miles than when we do two separate bookings to go J out of Perth to Singapore and Suites out of Singapore.
I learnt the long cut idea from AFF so I might not crowd out Cruiser seeing I might fly Perth- Melbourne- Sydney to start the SQ run from there. That way I might make WP1 with QF as well.
If you find you are thinking about this sort of stuff too much just try a run on the Sydney trains to Liverpool or similar (and back) for a reality check.

.

Thought could do a mixed class redemption but at F mileage? Instead of 2 separate bookings? Havent done it before though.

Yes, IIRC lobster is not on the usual menu

The best SQ could offer you.

Atmosphere is similar to a private, invitation-only club with high-back leather chairs and a la carte dining.

Only F ticket holders could get in. No guest is allowed.
