Well the time is finally almost upon us, Mr & Mrs Arrows first suites experience (next Monday) :D
SIN-LHR and then CDG-SIN on the way back
Seats 3C/3D booked for the 'double bed' experience (we are still relatively newly-weds at 2yrs of marriage, future bookings may be two window seats :p)
It all came together today after I noticed 2x business saver awards from PER-SIN open up on the weekend (previously no availability) for our first flight; quickly put in a request to transfer what little miles I had left on Saturday and they came through today just in time for me to snap them up.
Now the hard decisions like whether I book the cook or see what's on board. Thankfully have 4 meals to choose from (2x lunch, 2x breakfast) so may do a mixture of both.
Can't wait to experience what all of you have been talking about for so many pages!

I'd book the cook and if you don't like it or want something extra, just ask, I had no issues doing this on 3 flights recently, as I wanted to try more of the wonderful food!

I know you and the +1 will more than enjoy the flight!

Let me know how BTC goes! I need to decide whether I do it for the 18th!

Of course you should all try BTC on your maiden voyages - it just adds to the total package. Seriously if any of you are seafood eaters how could you NOT pre-order Lobster Thermidor if you had the chance? Its a no brainer - BTC - try both the Krug and the Dom - sample all the reds and whites if you can - try every course offered to you even if you do not complete it - watch the movies - try the bed - this is Suites - best flt experience you will ever experience - take it all in - do not disembark and think to yourself "I wonder if I should have tried that"!

Watch out Cruiser Elite , Mrscove asked about starting to do Suites runs out of and into Melbourne during the AFL footy season.
Your thoughts about trying everything resonates well with me. I think about what happens if you lose your taste and smell senses when you get a bit older so that helps me test the French red , both champagnes and the lobster.

Please please do NOT post anything after your trip as this will just remind me that I have to wait until October for my NEXT Suites run. Please do tell me that the Dom was warm, the '07 Cos d'Estournel was corked, the staff didn't smile and treat you like royalty for every minute and that the bed was too short. Then I won't have to count down the 182 days, 13hours and 23 minutes until departure!

Not implying - categorically stating!

No certainly not easily - this course of action requires significant amounts of wit and charm - qualities possessed by a rare few here on AFF.

hah, Mr Elite is quite the charmer when he wants to be :p

Also, a tip for new players - some call centre agents are better than others... ;)

here's a cheeky phone snap from my trip home last week. i was severely hungover from a trip to the HK7s, however this was an absolute delight as my first flight in Suites.

have a trip to BOM next week with the better half, however have to 'slum' it in F for both legs...

BTC beef rendang was had for breakfast as the dinner menu offering of noodles and lobster was too good to pass up. both were delicious. Would love to know how to eat caviar properly though - i had no idea, and there was no mother of pearl(?) spoon to top the crackers.

may get round to a TR at some point in the future, however happy to answer any questions whilst i savour the memory!

Excellent advice, I plan to do all of the above! I think you've convinced me and I'll try the lobster thermidor. As lovestotravel pointed out, can always ask for more food from the onboard menu anyway. I've had the slipper lobster thermidor in business and quite enjoyed that, so everything points to me enjoying the F version!

Edit: Well we've booked the lobster thermidor for lunch on SQ308, can't wait. Any decent BTC breakfast options people would recommend? I'm not a huge breakfast eater so I was planning on just eating what ever is onboard (especially since will probably be somewhat full from the TPR), but if there are any other must tries then I'll give it a shot! Especially since no BTC on our flight back from CDG.Doesn't have to be breakfast-y (e.g. the wagyu burger sounds nice?)

Currently sitting in TPR. There is a grand total of 5 passengers in here including Mrs Pozza and myself. Think we are the only ones drinking the Dom atm, although it has been about 30mins since I have been offered a top up which is probably a good thing at this point :)

This is hour 4 in here so probably acceptable and 2 mins after post my glass has been filled once more. Almost time for the burger

Phew - that was lucky - I could feel you dehydrating from here.

Tell us more - you arrived from where at what time? Off to where at what time?

OK 06:20 arr how many in TPR when you walked in?

Standard sequence for TPR visit?
1. Enter TPR and find a seat
2. Go take shower
3. Find nice table in restaurant for brekky
4. When wait staff approach you with menu you momentarily think to yourself - 'It's only 7am - should I have a Dom or not?' - after like 1.5secs consideration you arrive at conclusion - HELL YEAH!

Aargh, one of my legs in Suites - SQ228 has been changed to a A330 (baaaaaaaaawwwwwwwww..)

What should I do?
Move on to an earlier flight with F on 777-300? (preferred option)

or move to leave via SYD?

Aargh, it is slipping out of my clutches

They substituted a380 with a330! in August, so no Suites or First despite booking suites MEL-SIN-LHR

First world problem but....... no Krug or Dom on the way to Singapore!
