Anyone know if SB operate their own checkin counters in SYD and/or whether you can check in at the QF counters if you're on the QF flight number?

I don't have current info but back when I was traveling to NOU a lot SB, had their own check in and pax on QF codeshares couldn't check in with QF

I’ve always thought you checkin at the operating carriers counter, not the marketing carrier (unless it’s the same) ;)

As samh004 said, check in with the operating airline

Thanks yes I know the usual rule is to check in with the operating airline but as SB use QF ground services at SYD I wasn't sure how integrated the arrangement would be. Thanks.

In April, I was able to checkin at QF 1st counter. SB metal, QF codeshare. Early access to 1st class lounge!

Did you have checked bags? How many hours prior to departure did you checkin?

I suppose it's technically possible as SB is hosted in Altea like QF metal flights. It wouldn't always be possible if QF did the ground handling for carriers using a different checkin system eg Hawaiian Airlines who use Sabre.

Checked Bags: Yes
Check in: ~4hrs prior

There was another thread on this topic at the time. I'd asked a similar question and got mixed responses. So we took a gamble arriving >3hrs and won. Fortunately, because there was zero sign of life at the SB checkin counters.

There maybe no guarantee this works in the future but certainly worth trying if you have 1st lounge access.

Thanks - I may try this.
Of course the whole reason for my question is that I do have First Lounge access and I want to enjoy it for as long as possible.
