Is there a problem booking these flights as part of a trip.

QF31 does not come up as an available flight from SYD- LHR on that day.

Will we be treated differently in Singapore from others booked SYD-LHR

I would imagine you would be treated differently. You are getting off in Singapore and staying for a day, and getting back on the plane the next day. You aren't getting back on the Sat flight like everyone else.

Sorry, my mistake. There were no through flights from SYD-LHR on QF31 so I tried to break it up into the SYD-SIN/SIN-LHR but obviously got my days wrong on the second leg.
I have just checked there are no seats QF31 SIN-LHR on the 22nd.

Back to the drawing board.

Something odd is happening then. According to EF there are heaps of seats available on QF31 on 22/05/2010 SIN-LHR:
F6 A6 J9 C9 D9 I0 W9 R9 T0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O1 X1 E0

and also seats on QF9:
F9 A9 J9 C9 D9 I0 W9 R9 T3 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L5 VC SC NC QC OC XC E0

Also appears to be no issue booking it on the QF website ex-Aus:

16:25 Sydney 06:40
(Sun) London (Heathrow) QF31 $1649 $2121 $2564

I may not have been clear. It is a rewards booking. No A380 showing up on the 22nd.
We have decided to go the 23rd.

Well - yes - you were unclear. You never mentioned that :)

No A380 showing up on the 22nd.

QF31 is showing X1 ex-SIN, so I believe that indicates there is one Classic redemption seat available. If you are asking for more seats than QF has released, then you are definately not going to see the flight as an option (same as if you try to book 2 economy seats and availability is only showing Y1).

So, to answer you original question - I don't believe there is a problem booking this as a through trip. I think the issue might be that you are asking for more seats than there are available.
