I don't know if you have access to EF, but D/I/J availability on the morning of 26th is currently showing as:
...
Edit: Edited to include J, I and D
Hmmm ... look like they expect lots of traffic that morning with the 15 minute intervals 6:30-8:30. Of course some flights can be cancelled in the next four or five weeks with PAX reallocated.

BTW, E/F has an easy 'share' facility where you can copy the result to the computers 'scratchpad'/'clipboard' in BB code.

Just click 'share results' at the upper right of the results page, then BB code ('radio' button) then '[Copy To Clipboard]', and set up your post and 'Paste'. Voila!

Well I didn't get through, but managed to leave my number with the 'automated call back' thing. Wonder why this wasn't offered the three other times I've tried to call?
anyway, someone should get back to me within 20 minutes apparantely.
I'll everyone know how I go.

Nice. Thank you. Now if only I could get through. Just tried phoning again and it said it was a wait of 40 minutes. I;m too exhausted to hold for that long. Might see if I can ring in the middle of the night.

OT, but another advantage for elite status..

Interestingly, no one has commented on F pax being able to pre-book a dining table. Maybe that is not the case...?

I've seen a table or two in SYD with 'reserved' signs at times. Not sure what it's about though.

I once asked when they phoned and they said it wasn't necessary and certainly I have always got a table. I have a vague memory of someone (maybe PF), saying they ask at checkin and they phone through and reserve a table.

Success.
Managed to get the outbound flight from MEL changed to 6am but I was slugged with a $200 change fee.

Well, enjoy.

As a once off, $200 may not be that much- I hope you will consider it worth it.

Personally, with that segment being in the J fare bucket, I would have simply just fronted at 5am on the day of departure and asked to be moved to an earlier flight.

At least you have the security of knowing ...

Lost count of the times we've been seated at a signed "reserved table" ... it's a con! They whack a sign at various tables to ensure some sort of crowd control.

I reckon it's worth it. Now you can enjoy your day with no worries about missing your spa appointment or the whole F experience.

I've found that declining the breakfast on the MEL-SYD leg is worth it so that you have a full meal (or two) in the F lounge. The FA will understand.

Do you have a window seat on the long leg?

Have selected 1A but open to suggestions as to which is the best F seat on the A380, bearing in mind that 2K and 3A have already been taken.

Well done. There's nothing worse than being in a state of panic, or at least anxiety, on a domestic flight hoping to connect to a international flight with a short connection time. It's a well-spent $200. A late arrival at SYD could result in either you and/or your luggage not making your booked flight to DFW.

Good to see you changed your flight to an earlier flight. My reasons for an earlier flight is the palava of a T3-T1 transfer and the international boarding call is up to 1 hour before departure AND there is only one flight per day to DFW. If you mis connect due to a problem with the domestic leg you will have to wait another day.

Im surprised you had to pay a change fee. Last December I changed a SYD-MEL flight to an earlier one to connect to QF93. Initially they resisted as they said it was within the minimum connection time of 1hour for MEL airport. I said there were 4 of us flying in various PNR but travelling together and we must not miss QF93. I did not raise lounge time as an reason for the request. They changed our tickets for free to a MCT of 2.5 hours. 3 out of 4 tickets were award J ticket, one was revenue (I) but no fees charged. Flight changed at T-6 days when I realised that the flight times changed (due to daylight saving difference??) to when I booked these seats at T-352

Maybe I am just naive (in fact when it comes to F, I am definitely naive) but I thought with an F booking fully paid for (even though it was a first saver fare) I would have been able to change it willy nilly for nothing.
Anyway, I'm happy now. Will be a pain getting up at 2.30am (I live a 75-minute drive to Tulla in good traffic), but it's not like it won't be worth it.
