I am seeking economy class flights to Baltimore for 2 passengers (Me QF Platinum and Wife QF Silver ) departing Sydney on 28 Dec. Intend staying Baltimore until 4 Jan (able to do SC run if you can recommend a good one) where we want to fly to Honolulu and spend some quality time at Hilton Hawaii. Plan depart on 11 Jan return to Sydney. Wife has 50K points and i will have around 30K by that time. I prefer flying on Qantas or one World airlines. Don't want to fly via China. Looking at minimising cost, and don't mind multiple stop-overs.

First time we have tried this service and looking forward to the replies.

Thanks in advance.

I would suggest FJ SYD-NAN-LAX, a single AA booking LAX-LAS, and then AA LAS-Baltimore. All will credit to QF with points and SCs

Working on this itinerary but not sure i have the fares correct:
SYD-NAN-SYD Qantas $1300 Return as Discount economy fares.
Nadi (NAN), Fiji Fri, 28 Dec 2012, 20:50 to HNL Fri, 28 Dec 2012, 07:10
HNL Fri, Fri, 11 Jan 2013, 08:10 to Nadi (NAN), Fiji Fri, Sat, 12 Jan 2013, 15:05 - FJ Fares are $1682 AU Return for BUSINESS
Then AA From HNL - BAL - HNL for $2726 return. for Instant Upgrade/First Cabin for flights 28 Dec AA8 and 29 Dec AA2906 and returning on Jan 10 on AA595/AA123
Total Cost is around $8764 for both my wife and I. Am still trying to work out SC and points.
Wondering if any could advise if this is a good routing/choice or not.
Disc Econ SYD - NAN-SYD and Business NAN-HNL-NAN with Instant Upgrade/First Cabin HNL-BAL-HNL (Via DFW)
Any help here would be great as sites advised few seats left

Sydney - Baltimore - Honolulu - Perth Need Help !

Trying to come up with the best options (best cost/quality) for a trip my wife and i want to take in Dec. Timing is not great for specials but this is what we want to achieve. Timings Need to be in Sydney 20 - 27 Dec. Then free and clear to fly to Baltimore (prefer Business) and spend up to 4 Jan in Baltimore. Want to fly to HNL to stay there until 11 Jan and return to Perth. Would appreciate any experienced members advice on best airlines/flights and best SC earners for Qantas. Not asking much am i. Regards

Re: Sydney - Baltimore - Honolulu - Perth Need Help !

I think you'd get better value doing an AA KUPP ex HNL to somewhere in the Caribbean & either stop over there for a couple of nights or continue on to BWI. The key thing here is that you purchase a separate ticket ex that city in the Caribbean to BWI & return so you fly back via that same city to take the return KUPP flights back to HNL.

For example a KUPP fare HNL/SJU (San Juan) is USD588.70 pp one way compared tgo HNL/BWI (Baltimore) which is USD1,521.56 pp one way which leaves quite a bit left over to purchase a return ticket SJU/BWI/SJU.

You could either have a night in SJU or just connect all the way HNL/SJU/BWI then do the same on the return stopping in SJU again being optional. Even if you have separate tickets on AA they can still check your bags all the way through.

Re: Sydney - Baltimore - Honolulu - Perth Need Help !

For the dates you have said I can see:
SYD-NAN-SYD
28/12 QF391 SYD-NAN - note that this is fully flexible, so full economy SCs
12/1 QF 386 NAN-MEL
13/1 QF400 MEL-SYD - given the arrival time of your flight from HNL, you will not be able to arrive in SYD on the same day; you would probably need to overnight in MEL (or BNE for $100 more each).
Total cost SYD-NAN-SYD $1297 (as you said). I can't find anything cheaper.

NAN-HNL-NAN
28/12 FJ853 NAN-APW-HNL
11/1 FJ852 HNL-APW-HNL
-Note that these flights stop in Samoa for an hour. I can only see two seats left at the price you quoted for the outbound flight. I would book this sector soon.

HNL-BWI-HNL
I'm afraid I can't help you there. I would look into ozbeachbabe's suggestion or if you're happy with the flights you've already found then just book them.

You've certainly allowed for maximum points/SCs this way, make sure you book flights with QF/oneworld flights numbers where possible. I can't find anything better to offer because I don't think there is much more out there. If you're happy with the prices then book soon, the flights (especially around Christmas) will sell out fast.
