The plane has to bank quite sharply into Rose Bay. We disembarked onto the boat. There were a group who were going to go out for a late afternoon flight after us. They were accompanying an Itallian who was in the fashion business. He had a very expensive-looking suit but didn't seen to have any money left over for socks ;). We all had to move away from the plane. while the pilot refuelled before returning to shore.
All in all a fabulous trip that mrs andye tjoroughly deserved.
We rounded things off by celebrating with the mstr andyes and a few friends. The afternoon isnt something we 20181015_163938.jpg be able to do often but highly recommended as a special treat.

Nice report. Now that you have done the trip, I can say that I was also keen to this trip but lost my enthusiasm after the tragic accident on NYE last year....not sure if the final report has been released as yet.

It was a terrible tragedy and do understand your concern. I'm glad mrs andye was too busy over the new year to have picked up the story as she would have been nervous.
I was extremely happy with the safety aspects though we both said afterward that we made a mental check to see that pilot looked fit.
The recent theory in the press that the pilot could have been knocked out by a front-seat passenger turning round quickly is vaguely plausible from the layout

Lovely way to spend a birthday - thanks for the photos

Very nice trip report. Sounds like an excellent way to spend a birthday.

Great report, and terrific present (that you could both enjoy) - well played.
