So no email that I can see for wife and I. Platinum and Gold. Wife just starting membership year and my Platinum will lapse in October.

I don't think they were too fussy to whom they sent it. Even a silver and red in this household received it, in addition to me.

Question. Both partner & I received the email and activated the DSC offer, however it doesn’t show up as activated in our Velocity app or through the online account. Is everyone the same? Took photos of the activation just to be able to prove we activated, but would have thought it would show up in the actual account as an activated offer?? Just curious. Cheers.

PS booked flights after activating the offer, so really hoping it’s not an issue 🙏

When you try activating the offer again, it'll show that you've already chosen one of the offers.
Anyway, my other half didn't get the offer...so clearly not everyone is getting it.

Appreciate the response. Hopefully if any issues, the photo of the activation will cover that off. Cheers

I just wonder about this promo. So soon after a similar promo. Does it suggest that VA is really in financial trouble?

I note that VA has cancelled a couple of flights I was booked on, MEL-ADL and ADL-MEL, based on removing these flights from their schedule.

Might be time to get a bit jittery about VA's survival?

Just a case of plumping up the forward bookings so that numbers look good/better for the IPO.

Nah, all the airlines are putting on sales/promos at the moment. I suspect cost of living is starting to bite leisure travel and they're all fighting to get their piece of the pie. Particularly with it being tax time, they're hoping people will spend some of that on travel.

I also think as Rex keeps growing, we'll see more competitive behaviour come out of the major airlines to try and hold onto their market share.

Re your cancelled flights, Virgin is constantly reassessing their network to use their finite resources to the best of their ability. As this happens, some routes will be cut back as others prosper. If you're on one of the reduced routes, it definitely sucks, but I don't think it's anything to worry about.

I suspect that those of us up the Velocity 'food chain' and regular travellers are not going to be offered anything. The offer is too broad ie: for a year of flying. I can plan my regular flights and would go multiple Platinum. Would love to hear differently, seeing as mine said nah nah.
I fall into the regular, very, flyer and received the offer. As a contrarian point of view, these promotions, including family pooling of SCs, do nothing but devalue the brand and the value to the regular flyers.
