Tribe, I see the past few posts, and yet again wonder at this age of misinformation. Those photos of RooFlyers could be portrayed to be of a pleasant thing, but they are so not!

last night the first (and clearly unsuccessful) assassination attempt was made. An oldie but a goodie - I respect at least that - ply a guest with interminable wines, then leave them with a bottle of OP rum to let themselves, in acknowledgement of the dismal surrounds, simply do the job themselves..... I must admit that I came close - the prospect of a second day on the Dark Isle was a hideous challenge, mentally and physically.

But somehow I resisted, I found the strength. I avoided the silently offerred option of self destruction and continued....
 
In the wee hours I staggered out of bed, feeling truly shabby. But rejoicing still at sheer Life. My living form clearly shocked my "host". He had obviously not expected my survival. thus ensued some delicate, impromptu, dealings.

We agreed a truce for 24 hrs - that is the current fashion.

He offerred to spend the day showing me his new digs - the University of Hobart where he now lectures. So I equally foolishly agreed...
 
Now please understand, I am not one to cast stones (or judgement) on those less fortunate than myself, but today's experience truly tested that...

I obviously knew that tasmania was "behind the eightball" in most things, but what I saw today shocked me. I will post the following photos trying to be kind to my "host" but also alerting true Australians about the squalor that these distant cousins actually live in.
 
Well oversold on expectation at the start, the thread seems to have fizzled ...when it was promised to to er sizzle...
