Yeah, supposedly they 'trained the house down' before this test - obviously no catching practise between the big night and day 1 though..........

Now hopefully he can show us that he can be 'that all-rounder' and do it with the bat, he needs to if you're batting at number 6.

Davey is a protected species for selection, anyone else averaging less then 10 for these 4 tests would certainly not be there.

He does have some runs in the bank, and not much onsite competition for his place. If the Ashes weren't secured.....
Reckon he'll be glad to be back on home soil for the summer....wouldn't want the lean run to continue though

None when it mattered and almost all in Australia. Regardless of the possible DRS blip just now, and given the circumstances, that shot was not befitting of a test batsman, let alone an opener. I expect this is his last test match.

He's never instilled a vibe of stoicism and his all or nothing attitude is fine only for the short forms. You're only as good as your last innings, so given his series, it'll be a truly mystifying decision to stick with him this summer. Even with the apparent lack of options. If they do, I'm sure that he'll bully a few runs on our predictable pitches, but so will the others.
