Test Cricket 2019

I reckon the result at 2-2, as much as it sucks, is probably a fair indication of this series.

You could maybe make an argument that Australia probably played a little better 'overall', however the difference in the end was that Australia lost our heads in critical moments (and some absolutely woeful fielding in this Test match as well) which lead to this result.

As a fan I'm ecstatic we retained the Ashes, that was really the priority, but it's bitter sweet when the win for the series was a very big possibility.

Well that was a disappointing end to an otherwise good Ashes series.

I'm surprised Warner wasn't dropped at some point.

Many of the ex-players are still saying he is one of 3 (including Smith & Labs) who are certain for the 1st Test at home in November😬🙄

I think we'll struggle at home against New Zealand and possibly Pakistan.
Should be a very good contest against NZ, they've got a great team at present.

But we definitely won't struggle against Pakistan.

I just checked the schedule for the test series and shield season - shield season starts on 10 Oct - with several rounds prior to first test v Pakistan at the gabba 21st november (Australia havent lost for 30 years at gabba) 2nd test is day/night at Adelaide. First Boxing Day test against kiwis for ages as well as new years test and perth test. So by the looks shield cricket being played during test cricket period prior to the bbl and australia play one dayers during bbl. By the looks of it- it allows players in the long format to find form or show reasons to be picked of tests and bbl etc to assist re selection for one day series.

I'm booked for the first three days of each of the summer Tests, except Melbourne where it is only the second day because of other commitments. I'm expecting two hard fought series and a return to form by Warner (if not it will be time for him to join the various hit and giggle competitions around the world. Roll on November!
