For those of you who don't see update from the Qantas Facebook page....

If they continue this marketing campaign with more "That’s why I fly Qantas..." examples, I think it will help raise morale within the airline.

So what other reasons are there for people on AFF that explain… “That’s why I fly Qantas”

When I get to the airport 10 hours before my flight they move me to the next available even on the cheapest fare as a platinum QFF.

Oh, wait, that's Virgin Australia who do that for me as a Gold VAFF.

Wait, why do I fly them?

I guess the level of service I get from them has nearly always been acceptable and my flights have always been competitively priced. I don't think I've had better or worse service on any other carrier, but since I started sending them my business they've looked after me, which is what I want when I show loyalty.

Well they got me home the Monday after the ash cloud started, after my Sunday night and monday morning flights were cancelled and there was nothing til Tuesday. However they got me out on the monday afternoon.. Impressed on how this WP was looked after..

People from overseas would possibly say,

I fly Qantas because I know that they charge people from Australia more than they charge me for exactly the same seat.

Because at the moment their frequent flyer program is the best for me,and for my travel patterns
they offer the most convenient flights, however if the revamp of the VA FF program offers me more
value then I would consider switching my travel to them.
Cheers

My wife knows that I'll never want to sleep with a Qantas stewardess.

Because QF has more flights scheduled between CBR & MEL and is almost always cheaper than DJ for flights out of CBR on a Fri evening and back on a Sun afternoon (believe it or not). Also J lounge access is a big plus.

EDIT: I forgot about JASAs - which is something that DJ doesn't have atm. Being able to obtain status credits on flights booked using points.

In all seriousness, the thing I like about Qantas is the level of professionalism, and the brand. The brand itself says "quality, service, professionalism" - if only the management could see this and build on the things that made the Qantas brand what it is today and not eat away at its very foundations.

Because they continue to "enhance" my FF program ...

That's why I fly Qantas :p

Seriously, they are going to trot out the safety line, considering the off-shoring of maintenance, and recent safety related issues? I still feel safe on Qantas, but not as safe as I would have 10 years ago.

So if Qantas is "safe" why not Virgin... they took exactly the same action during the volcano incident...

As mentioned on the FB page

*Safety, yes there has been mechanical incidents but no lives lost since the jet age. (how many airlines operating as long as QF can claim that)
*Best schedule/connections for my O/S trips tp the US with the AA codeshares.
*QF FF program both domestically and internationally.
*Seeing the white Roo on the tail when coming back from O/S and hearing "I still call Australia Home" as I am boarding.
