Notes

Commendations to serfty (#18 and #38), ozbeachbabe (#12 and #18) and sr81 (#5) for submitting their finds; unfortunately all were beaten to the punch by others.

Perhaps next time I or someone does a Scavenger Hunt, we should have one winner of finding an item and then something or another section for those that find it thereafter?

I'm also brainstorming for AFF Scavenger Hunt #2 :D....

Yet to be found:
#1: HKG-based ground crew holding a "Final Call" sign (you can just take a picture of the sign if you want, not the crew + sign)

#4: Airport directional sign written in at least three languages (including English)
#8: Triple loading gate with an A380 parked at it with all jetways in position

#28: Eight glasses of beer – this item requires two photos: one photo showing a "before drinking" shot; the other is an "after drinking" shot. In both shots, all eight glasses must be shown

For some reason the files are too big, but 2 isn't so bad.

#10: A non-Australian nationalistic soft toy in a duty free shop (not necessarily in Australia)

I sort of have a picture like this but it doesn't quiet meet the rules; it wasn't in the duty free shop when I took the picture.

I only saw this thread this morning, and I remember I have a photo which would satisfy both criteria:

#4: Airport directional sign written in at least three languages (including English)
#20: An EXIT sign in a language other than English

http://i676.photobucket.com/albums/vv129/edisondownunder/AFF%20FT/IMG_4125.jpg

It was in Helsinki Vantaa Airport which I took last year. The Exit sign (as well as the Baggage Claim and the word Helsinki) has English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Finnish, Swedish (6 languages!!!!!!). Try to beat that!

Looks like the Finns really look after the East Asian tourists! I had to say I like this airport!

Cool! I like this game!

EDIT: DOH! I noticed that it is only for dates 22/02/2010 or later. So I just disqualified myself :p Oh well ....

Is someone going to Helsinki Vantaa Airport anytime soon?!

That’s a shame!

That’s a shame!

That's all right. I am actually quite proud of this picture though. The most language I have seen before this (on my limited travel) was I think 4 languages at Seoul-Incheon Airport (ICN): Korean, Japanese, Chinese, English. So Helsinki airport signage blew me away.

#21: A sign or board which displays all of the members of the Star Alliance

Taken at AKL last Wed

Technically there are a lot more members in the Star Alliance than given by that check-in board. So I'm hesitant to give that one to you.

Anyone challenge my decision?

There are 26 full members and that only lists 10, so unless the little board below the big board lists more, the photo is 16 short.

Notwithstanding that there are 19 different Star Alliance FFPs (Miles & More of course covers a whole lot of them), so the sign is still woefully short.

Visitors holding Eurobonus Gold or Turkish Miles & Smiles Elite (as a matter of example) must be feeling rather unloved at AKL.

#13: A helicopter at an airport

I am pleased to present this photo taken today at CBR AP Open Day.

I didn't see it land but it was there. Here it is shown flying over an old RAAF aircraft.

If accepted this will be the last find I can present. :)
(And the first [of a possible two] person to have more than three finds accepted.)

When you have 4 other Fters drinking your picture before you come back with the 2nd round.

Before; well as best I could.

Before I forget, I should say: "Found!"

So Bundy Bear, in one (or two) hits, you've got your three. (Not that it's overly spectacular, I heard him plotting all about it on the way, in and on the way back from Fiji  :p ).

So as long as it's above the ground which belongs to an airport, you'd be happy?

I would say item found as the helicopter is at the airport, it is just not on the ground.
