Thinking about the Penfolds Reserve Bin A Chardonnay 2019 @ $84.50 after WINEFAIR2020 code. Do these usually get discounted further throughout the year?

cellardoor.co rarely discount Penfolds which are usually excluded from their promotions, so now is a good time to buy them - 2019 Reserve Bin A has been rated better than 2018 by reviewers, except Nick Stock (95 vs 96) - 2019 Bin 311 is also preferred over 2017, bar Campbell Mattinson on Winefront (93+ vs 95)

(Cloudburst- a bargai.......))

Six Chardonnays appear in the profile – the 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

We’ve assembled a vertical of all six for this special seasonal offer: Normally $1650 AUD/six-pack, yours for only $1450/six, $2900/twelve, through December 15.

All the best,

Will Berliner

Can anyone confirm if the Bay of Fires Chardonnay is one of those old world buttery chards.
Cellar one has stock and I have credits to use but I'm only a fan of oaked Chardonnays.

Certainly sounds like a fair whack of oak. As for buttery, no mention or otherwise of malolactic fermentation which gives that buttery character. Crisp acid finish implies probably no malo, but a good winemaker should still have a good acid balance even with malo.

We were at the Bays of Fire new vintage dinner, definitely seemed like there was malo to me.

It's pretty good, has oak and butter, but not as intense or rich as say Savaterre for us.
