The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes

I remember the multi-city award search remembering my last search, but now it's blank when I navigate back to it. Same for others or is this a browser problem I'm having? Annoying when trying to quickly check availability to various places from my base.

I used my Qantas Pass (Travelpass) on Friday. Once a day for the past three days I've gotten identical emails :

Your Qantas Pass was recently used

We're letting you know that a transaction has been made with your Qantas Pass ending in xx_X" [...]

I mean, glad that they're notifying me but I think I get the point by now... :)

yep. happens to me too. I guess they figure I need multiple reminders that I have used my pass :D

I have a booking in my account that I never made. No points have gone from My Activity statement. Booking class is "U". No idea why it's there.

Can't cancel it as it was apparently booked by a travel agent and I have to contact them. No idea who that might be.

PNR doesn't come up on CMT or on the JAL MMB website. Weird one.

Something similar happened to one of my sons accounts several months ago. The flight disappeared on departure day and unfortunately no points or scs were awarded.

I suspect those latter two are someone putting a typo into to their QFF number and the flight being connected to your account. While most ways of linking QFF numbers on the Qantas site do check against last name, this isn't the case for agent bookings. The discrepancy likely gets picked up at check-in and the non-matching QFF number is rejected (and then likely replaced with a correct number if the pax or a check-in agent noticed).

Qantas bumped me off a revenue flight for not being vaxxed earlier this year!

The flight booked using parked credit and attracted double status credits. IT - did not extend me any points or SC / double !

I had a business upgrade.

I stood for there for 5 hours at bag drop watching the flight disappear before my eyes. IT issues the emails with my exemption all lost!

Qantas in their wisdom bumped me and transferred me to emirates.

Therefore : No status credits no points no upgrade.

No compensation because would have been Platinum one by now.

Tried writing but crickets 🦗

Is this a valid scenario for a "U" booking though?

Not necessarily an IT glitch, but what would make the seat map for a Qantas A333 go unavailable for economy, but not business, class? Both in Qantas MMB and ExpertFlyer.

Neither cabin is completely full according to ExpertFlyer.

Downgrade from an A333 to A332?

Is this International or domestic? For international in particular, the seat map becomes unavailable once a certain number of seats are assigned - you only get offered aisle vs. window choice. This is to preserve enough seats so that agents can seat families together or other similar requirements.

International. Ahh thanks, that makes complete sense.

Saw this in J flying NOU-SYD. 2x PAX but couldn’t tweak our seat allocation because there wasn’t 2 or more free seats available to QF (SB have reserved allocation).

A family party of 4+ may see this quite often with current loads.

You should be eligible for original routing credit (ORC) to get status credits (including DSC's) as well as a refund of any points used for the upgrade. Be sure to email [email protected] and explain the issue - specifically use the terms original routing credit . You won't get other compensation for the lack of the upgrade other than a refund of the points.
