The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes

Is this normal on Qantas booking website? just no response, and it will never time out (the animated dots indicating waiting for response never stop). If i cancel and try again, i will normally get an obscure errror indicating my browser has been blocked for about 15 mins or so.

I will more likely get this error if searching for Reward flights with both a Domestic and International leg, such as BNE>CGK (via syd or Mel) or reverse.

i get exactly same errors and pattern on 3 different computers, different browsers and also Phone App, and has been going on for a month.
Its cost me the redemption of a journey i didnt want MEL>CGK because i couldnt get a better option, only to get lucky a week later and also redeemed OOL>CGK via SYD despite departing BNE just errored out all the time or not available.
Yes, not uncommon (and obviously frustrating). It’s actually been reasonably stable for me for the last couple weeks but I would routinely get variations of this. Sometimes just can’t get the search fields to appear/function. Sometimes just those rolling dots (that don’t time out).

Usually switching browsers (particularly on my iPad) lets me move on.

The other options is to clear browser caches (everywhere) and login in clean (so you get a new 2FA check).

I try and make a point of logging out at the website - it seems to be more stable. Note that this doesn’t then require another 2FA if using the same device/browser combination(s).

So here’s a new and bizarre one. In another thread it was mentioned that QF Hotels booking appear in the QF app (iOS and Android). Neither SYD+1 nor I see this in our iOS iPhone and iPad apps (never) - yet others do! We can only see/manage QF Hotels bookings on the website. 💁

We we’re also very late in getting the new Points Club dashboard which has subsequently reverted back to the old…💁

Someone how the QF system is tailoring or withholding functionality based on individual members? What else could we be missing and why…? 💁

As a datapoint, SYD+1 and I have the same QFF anniversary date, both WP/LTG, PC and listed in my QBR account. I’m wondering if one or other or a combo is chucking a wobbly in the system?

I dint think Mrs R has the new PC dashboard, but the existing hotel voucher has disappeared and new wine and hotel vouchers for PC+ have yet to appear, despite receiving the email.
Not to mention no milestone bonus, 4 weeks after qualifying.
Anyone else still having these problems?

Cancelled a booking today and selected "Refund". But got the cancellation confirmation that states the "Flight Credit" will be processed in a few days. They are expecting delays blah blah ...

Actually I cancelled mine on Monday and it was back on the card yesterday. So four working days. Now of course getting it off the card , cause credit card is now in significant credit

Home page splashes have disappeared for me the last few days on Edge, but now Qantas website functions on Chrome (it wasn't the past few months so I switched browser for Qantas site only). Weird the "o o >" buttons are still on the screen but nothing loads even when cookies/temp files deleted. Consistency would be nice!

I'm not sure whether this is an IT issue or genuine lack of reward availability, but whenever I try to search for LAX-JFK reward seats (any class) with flexible dates for July 2023, I never get any results returned and instead get shunted to a blank page with URL: https://www.qantas.com/tripflowapp/bookingError.tripflow

Yep I've been seeing the same thing - multi-city search is sometimes better (even if you're not actually searching a multi-city itinerary), but the constant errors make it so frustrating.

Any tips or explanations?
AA pulled most award seats unless they’re a genuine “saver award” but AS flights should still be bookable if available.

The other thing was a general glitch where all AA rewards went missing (before AA pulled the plug) but I thought that was fixed.

Also, given that July isn’t that far away in rewards land, it’s quite possible that there aren’t any reward seats left.

DSC finally drops, have had the flights I've wanted to book researched for a couple of weeks in a multi-city booking.

Go to book them now and whenever I click on the "see all flights" option to view alternatives the website coughs itself and gives me the surprised looking computer screen telling me an error has occurred. The same thing happened when I tried on mobile.

Is anyone else getting these sorts of issues today? Is it simply a case of coming back to the website later on this afternoon?

Clear cookies, cache, temp files etc. Give that a shot.

Didn't work for me, but thank you for the assistance. It's all good really, was just trying to connect to Adelaide through Brisbane rather than Melbourne for the extra handful of SCs, isn't really worth the stress.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Domestic Y Flex fares come with a $99 cancellation fee. I thought Flex fares had no change or cancellation fee. Only fare difference when booking modified.

International Y Flex fares have no cancellation fee

I'm pretty sure the cancel fee has always been there.

What type of ticket? Was it refundable?
Update on this - Spoke to a very helpful agent from HBA, Mara. She said that it was a good thing that I called to check on this. The cancellation had been stuck and wasn't going to go anywhere unless pushed manually. So Mara did the push for me, provided a dummy PNR to track this refund.

I then told her about how the website was confusing when it said a flight credit will be issued when I had asked for a refund. She apologised for the confusion and told that my refund is on it's way now. Mara also told that the card fee will be refunded, however, the carbon offset that I purchased will be not.
