You like a machine that says one thing and does another???????
That type of 'error' that gives op-ups, I can live with :p
But you're right. It would have been better if they showed the op uped seat number.

I always make sure I book Air NZ wide body flights on my trips to Auckland. So far I have always been put in Premium. :) I hope it continues. Flying VA metal, in 2 years as platinum I have never had an op-up. Actually, just flew to Hobart and put my wife and daughter in J as a treat (20th Anniversary) couldn't afford all of us. I really really hoped for an op-up on this particular trip but it wasn't to be and the spare seats stayed that way. :( Oh well. They enjoyed it and I got there in one piece all the more popular.

I've been Gold status for about 5 years and only ever got 1 upgrade to Business - from Canberra to Melbourne. Didn't even get a feed!

Not complaining though. I always get 3C or 3D.

Recent MEL-AKL flight

Was seated in Row 3F, Y was pretty much 100% full, and no-one in Y+

Was settled into Row 3, when the FA politely came up and very quietly said to me over the back of 2F that Virgin realises I am a loyal customer and that they would like to move me to one of the first two rows, it was handled very well by the FA!

One other passenger was also moved up from row 4

We then enjoyed the dig-e-player, food, drinks and wine all complimentary

Thanks Virgin

LST to MEL last Wednesday was upgraded from 3C to 1D minus the services. In fact they upgraded 8 x Pax to J seats on this flight. 3 of these passengers were Flexi so they got food. Not sure why because there was empty seats in Y. Didn't bother me as with this flight you blink and the flight is over...:)

Yeah, just like my Canberra to Melbourne upgrade. :p

Upgraded to the business seating area yesterday returning from Ballina. No business service as it isn't a route that business is sold on.

The plane was full so 8 people were moved up front. Interestingly, a few flexi meals were sent back to those in economy, but no one who had been upgraded received one. I thought that they would have been preferentially shifted, but it appears not.

I think that would cause issues with the meal distribution, they are tagged a few hours out by seat number which to me indicates you are unlikely to move.
