The Emirates First Experience - What to Expect?

One fail of the DXB lounges is they don’t do a good Bloody Mary. Thankfully I found an alternative.

Grapefruit jalapeño sour. Sensational. Not sure they are ordered that often as each one I did had quite a production with several staff watching. Glad to give them something to do!

And unlike QF lounges more than a single shot of spirits is not a problem.

Sigh, final flight in this run for me. DXB-SIN 9:40 flight. A380. DP13 on the ground. Everything proactively offered as well. Only different thing to note really is the purser (Siann or Sainna - I’m terrible with some names) was extremely present in the F cabin and actually ended up serving me quite extensively.

Thought I should have one mezze spread. Excellent.

Lamb machbous was full of flavour.

Banana walnut cake was very good.

Decent cheese board but couldn’t match the previous one.

Final round of chocolates. Highly recommend the dark choc with sesame seeds. Like a Reese’s butter cup on steroi_s.

Hope to fly EK F again one day…

I'd be very interested to know/learn how patties were made out of Aubergine. Aubergine (eggplant for us here) is not a veggie that can "hold" itself to stay as a patty. Granted it would be mixed with some other binding ingredients though.

I flew EK F on the way over and flying J from GLA in May. What was the lounge in GLA like?

Very typical EK outstation lounge. Small dining area near the buffet (maybe 16-20 tables), lots of comfortable seating spaces, good apron views. I didn't take a pic but was quite impressive seeing the A380 taxi in to the gate, dwarfing the other aircraft at the time. Plenty of hot (Indian and western) and cold food for lunch. I didn't eat anything but others seemed to be enjoying it. Very nice staff who kept offering me coffee or drinks. Only 1 A380 service and the lounge got close to full, would be my only negative. It's a long walk from security but close to the gate.

Hi everyone,

I Luckily snagged a reward F ticket using QF points for tomorrow, and I've never flown first before and may not ever again as its rare I fly alone without the fam.

Is there any advice to ensure I maximise the best of the the first class experience? I understand there's no F lounge open in the morning in Singapore, but anything I should know is appreciated!!

Thankyou!

Unlimited caviar on EK if you like it. Champagne served on the ground is not the good stuff so wait until after take off. Food ob board generally great so don't each too much in the lounge. Enjoy

Oh I'd have asked if you can guest my sister-in-law's sister if you were on her flight today (it was delayed more than an hour for some reason)

Do they use an A380 for that route?
If so ... take a shower in the air! It's something you just won't be able to do otherwise, and it's something that's not likely to be available again once the A380 ages out ...

I took this flight a couple of months ago. I mostly agree with the above advice, especially the advice to not eat too much in the lounge before the flight. I made a point of having a glass of the Hennessy Paradis cognac, given it sells for about $1500/bottle. After drinking it, I can understand why!

Oh - and don't order the fried rice. Ignore what they tell you about the fried rice being their signature dish ... it's just fried rice, you can get fried rice at your local Chinese restaurant for next-to-nothing.
Again ... do NOT order the fried rice.
