Having been on call for the first week plus cold and rain during the second week there was very little going on in my free time.On the weekend I had a visit from another AFFer @RooFlyer.Saturday night and we went to the Velo winery and their restaurant Timbre.
The menu.

We were talking too much so the photos were mainly forgotten. So just the first course -the beef crudo and chicken wings. The menu doesn't give a good guide to what you get.The food is really good.

An interesting floor with sassafras floor tiles.

And the bar.

Yum
..love those floorboards too..

I'm glad we went, but I'm not as big a fan as drron. Food was great, but its basically a set menu with two tiers. If the set dishes didn't take your fancy, then you'd be a bit unlucky.

drron's digs this time are a bit ... quirky.

Yes I have arrived in LST - flew in on Thursday direct from BNE. Now RON has stayed in many places in LST but this house takes the cake ! I have never seen SO much clutter/nicknacks in one place ! It looks like a deceased estate with only the bodies taken out. And it has WHITE carpet throughout -(Well it WAS white originally - Many moons ago ) I have removed the hall runner as it is a big trip hazard. 20210924_102732.jpg

RON goes to the hospital at 7.30, he gives me a cup of coffee in bed before he leaves, and this morning it was 1 C with a real feel of minus 3 !!! So I won't get out of bed for awhile, I am thinking of names for those cherubs !! 😮

Sunday morning and off to the Evandale markets with @RooFlyer .DSC06673.JPG.

I bought some carrots, cauliflower and potatoes from this stall which became miso marinated roast veggies for 2 nights of dinners.
Whilst there we tasted a few delicaciessuch as Ethiopan doughnuts and spicy stuffed American pretzels. The pretzels were good.
RooFlyer then set off for home and I decided to walk around Evandale.

Just out side the markets is a statue of painter John Glover.

And every year they have a Penny Farthing race through the streets of Evandale.

But when I sped this I was happy.

Some at the hospital think the Rustic bakery in Cressy is the best in the North and swear by their donuts.A latte and a lemon meringue donut went down well.

There is a narrow gauge railway which is meant to be operating every Sunday in Morven Park. However it was all quiet but obviously had been running during the pandemic.
