The last of my tour of Evandale.First a statue of a local hero Harry Murray VC.Born near Evandale and then moved to WA.After the war he moved to QLD.And another reminder of the small world we live in.His great mate after enlistment was Percy Black who is a forebear of mrsdrron through her mother.I used to talk to my MIL about them on a few occasions.

On the Saturday I headed to the North west to visit old haunts.Began with Burnie and some of the old buildings on the hill overlooking their oval and port.Had never ventured there in my times in Burnie.

I now planned to go to Wynyard and do the Inglis river walk. But checked the phone first and on the BOM radar heavy rain was about to hit Wynyard so turned for home.
Detoured via Brady's lookout as I thought I may get some good cloud photos.Certainly lots of clouds but I didn't quite miss the rain.

Before setting out on the walk I checked the radar.Thought I would be back at the car before the next rain band hit.I wasn't and got drenched.A couple of shots driving back to Lonnie.A nice specimen of a powton tree.

Now a lot of the time with mrsdrron will be spent in restaurants. She has arule that there is no cooking when she is away from home. The first night was at a favourite of ours Kosaten.A sushi train type set up but with nice food.So to start we order the wine first.A Japanese sounding name but a Griffith Pinot Grigio.Easy drinking.

As nearly always we each started with a plate each of salmon sahimi then tempura oysters.
DSC06845.JPG.
DSC06847.JPG.

Then we had the tempura prawns for the first time. They were really good.
DSC06846.JPG.

Then shared 2 dishes that fortunately both have 2 serves on the plate.Miso roasted eggplant and miso marinated lamb cutlets. We virtually always have at least one of these 2.
