Have a (potential) 7.5hr lax stopover connecting Dom --> Int.

Any updates to this thread or other suggestions? Fabulous thread.

Thinking shopping and/or in&out.

You have plenty of time for an In'n'Out run. I did my first this year, and as the Governator says: "I'll be back"!

Not sure I need 6 hours at in and out - thinking shop for 3-4hrs then in and out then back to LAX.

Open to other suggestions?

I wouldn't suggest 6 hours there either; 30 minutes would be heaps. You will just need to allow getting there and back.

Re: 6hrs in LAX after long flight suggestions

Assuming you have an onward flight, who is it with? Do you have any status with other airlines?

Re: 6hrs in LAX after long flight suggestions

Do an IN-N-OUT visit. It is close by and the shakes are great. Go north up Lincoln to Sepulveda and you are right by the northern LAX runway.

I second this. You can use the The Parking Spot shuttle (there are two, so use the right one), to get to in'n'out. Worth it. A quick google will give you exact instructions.

Also, if you do this I sometimes just walk up from terminals as I travel HLO most of the time. If I do have luggage, I have been known to catch the free Hilton LAX shuttle, leave my bag with Hotel and walk to In and Out from there, a 15ish minute walk...

If you don't want to walk back I catch the green bus ( Culver City ) for $1 per person back to the stop opposite the Hilton LAX. Give the hotel guys a few bucks for the bag minding and jump on the shuttle back to LAX

Re: 6hrs in LAX after long flight suggestions

Hi, I know that you have asked for information about lounge access which I don't have an answer to but In the past I have had time on stopovers and done a quick taxi/uber down Lincon to Santa Monica.

I remember one particular day having a great breakfast then walking around doing a bit of shopping (it was December 21st and the xmas decorations were rocking). It was a great way to burn a few hours and after sitting down on the plane for 15 hours great to get out and about. As somebody who has never really warmed to LA it was the best time I have had there. It is an attractive upscale area

I also think an Uber down to Manhattan beach is a great option if the day is nice...

if you only have 6 hours between flights, you would want to be back at LAX with 2 hours at least before your onward flight.. you would not have alot of time to do a great deal..

Day pass x 4 in a US domestic lounge ( I assume ) is not that exciting and not great value IMO.

Re: 6hrs in LAX after long flight suggestions

Might be pushing it but there's a cheap travelodge near the airport with free shuttle. They have a pool too which I find incredibly refreshing after long haul travel. For LAX Travel Layovers .. Hotel Day Rates, Day Rooms 9AM - 8PM Travelodge LAX on Century Blvd.

I'd recommend this. A day pass for lounges will set you back in the region of USD50 per person. Not sure what the options are for priority pass, but even then, there's membership fees plus lounge entry fees (depending on membership level).

Day use of a hotel, even for 3 and a half hours will give you somewhere to relax, shower, have a coffee, catch up on email and watch the news on tv. Or Ellen.

This site also has day use rooms, available 3 months in advance: https://www.hotelsbyday.com/en The Courtyard 9near LAX) is USD75 for a morning or afternoon use (4 hours)

Hilton Hotels also have some properties offering day use - just enter the same date for arrival and departure. Their LAX property is USD129 (I picked up a bargain at the Hilton O'Hare, day use from 9am to 6pm for USD109, normal nightly rates are three times that)

This is a bit out of date (esp in respect of LAX itself), but might give you some ideas. Here.

It's not really out of date. I have merged the threads. :D

Re: 6hrs in LAX after long flight suggestions

We took friends off a plane to Manhattan Beach Post restaurant based on reviews. I came out thinking the owners had tons of friends writing up great reviews for them. Flemings at El Segundo is always ok. Ruth's Chris in Marina del Rey works for us.

I know most say In N Out Burgers, and they are not wrong, but Im going to add get an Uber and Randy's Donuts. They have ruined all donuts from me since.
