The Master SQ Guide (Krisflyer, Waitlists & Waitlists Clearing)

Hey guys, I'm looking at waitlisting a flight from BKK to MEL with a stopover in SIN.
The BKK to SIN flight needs to be waitlisted but the SIN to MEL flight is available.
If I make this waitlist booking, will my points be deducted for both legs?
Will I be able to re-book another flight for the BKK to SIN flight that is available and the same SIN to MEL flight afterwards?

Points are not deducted for waitlisting an itinerary (regardless of availability of some of the sectors).

But note that on multiple occasions recently SQ has sent me an email at some time after waitlisting requesting call back and booking of the available sectors (available flights will automatically drop off the itinerary if you don't followed it up).

It’s an unwritten benefit of TPR that it can be used as an arrivals lounge, so yes, you would be able to use TPR for a same day onward connection.
Not completely unwritten - Arrivals access is indicated via the SQ web site.

Singapore Airline Publish on their web site a lounge access page: SilverKris Lounges Around the World | Singapore Airlines
  • On this page is a link to a .pdf document with lounge access rules: SK Lounge Access (.PDF attached)
  • The first section has Departures access rules with the first line of these rules indicating as follows:
Suites and First Class Customers³,⁴ The Private Room⁵ or First Class SilverKris Lounge with a guest
  • Note Footnote "4":
    • Suites and First Class customers arriving in Singapore on Singapore Airlines flights may use either The Private Room or the First Class SilverKris Lounge in Singapore Changi Airport.
    • ⁵ The Private Room has a no guest policy. Customers travelling on Singapore Airlines Suites and First Class with a guest on the same flight will be invited to the First Class SilverKris Lounge

Not sure if this is the right thread for the question but would appreciate advices. We flew from Munich to Bangkok on Thai beginning of June and credited miles to Krisflyer FF. However, they haven't been posted on the SIA account. Do I have to follow up with SIA or Thai and how do I do this.

Follow it up with SQ - you’ll probably need to provide the boarding pass stubs.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Looking for guidance on the current position in KrisFlyer for:
  1. When might blocked bulkhead seats open up for a MEL-SIN flight (for J, if it matters)? T-24h, T-48h, ...? I want to plan to go online right on the minute and see if I can get one.
  2. I have a backup itinerary a couple of days after my planned departure. What is the deadline for cancelling a KrisFlyer award for redeposit of miles? (The miles will still have a couple of years of validity.) And can it be done online/in-app or is it still necessary to call?

The bulkhead seats become available online 48 hours before the flight. Between 48-96 hours you need to call (although some have reported success using the live chat feature).

I have a reward booking in J with SQ through VA for SYD - SIN - LHR flight on 23.09.24 for 3 adults + 1 infant.

Ideally, i need the 2nd leg to be SIN - MXP or SIN - FCO to avoid length stop over & internal flight with an infant, but at the time this was the only availability into Europe.

What do you think my chanes are that reward availability will open up through VA via SQ in the coming weeks, noting there are limited flights? Would depart SIN on 23rd / 24th or 25th even.

There was a thread where people can check currently J bookings/availailbity but can see to find it?

if you can see if waitlist and advantage is available still directly through Singapore could be a good chance. If not, would e a much lower chance as there could be waitlisted clients who would go first.

I have never had a waitlisted flight come through. I have learned to set my expectations accordingly.

I have had 1, but what you say supports what i said. If you can't even waitlist then next to no chance.

I would think if there are still advantage fares available then it's possible but again you don't know how many are waitlisted for saver.

Is it possible to change a SQ Advantage award to include another sector?

Managed to find 2xF rewards (A380 suites) on SIN-SYD sector. Wanted to add DPS-SIN (in J) to it, but wasn't able to do it online. Instead of staying on hold and letting go of the rarely available award space, I booked SIN-SYD online first.

Now, I am trying to call up and see if I can add the DPS-SIN sector to it. Is this even possible?

This should be easily possible but they will charge you a change/assistance fee.

Thanks! The first agent was adamant but HUCA worked. The second agent was pretty good and worked out the miles to be no difference and didn't even charge a fee.

That would be a great result. Sometimes the change fee is hidden in the increased taxes/fees you are charged.
