Honestly, is everyone on this forum an alcoholic?
Nope, not even close, though I did enjoy the Semillon on offer at Coast yesterday

Not everyone, but quite a few like to congregate around the airline lounges bars'

You mean outside of this forum life is different?!!!
There is life outside of airports, lounges, and FF websites (checking points - you may have lost or gained 10,000 in the last hour or so!):mrgreen::mrgreen:
It sounds like it should be the loungers bar.
It was also pleasing to see that a request to keep the details under wraps was respected by the AFF members who attended, and they also held any comment until after the embargo despite some details leaking from the Amex site, pity such restraint was not shown elsewhere by other sites but then again I am not sure they were under the same conditions given they did not do the lunch?
Im happy it wasn't the AFF Five who leaked it but I think it was silly of AMEX to have the site sitting there live for hours instead of somebody flicking the switch at midnight.
It was raised, I can't remember by whom. Nothing definite, but Phil from Velocity said it was something they will consider doing from time to time. They recognise the value this gives in making it easy for people to switch from QF to DJ, but at the same time don't want to offer it too frequently because it devalues the status that people have earned from flying DJ.AFF Five, did you or DJ raise the issue of a gold-to-gold or Platinum-to-Platinum Status Match against QF?
As we've said, there were a whole range of topics discussed. The feedback I offered, which was specific to the announcement, was that I don't see the value in switching from the Platinum Reserve card to the Platinum Velocity card. The benefits are very similar, but I would rather have the option to spend my points with the full group of Ascent partners rather than having the direct sweep to Velocity. Austin, the Amex rep, highlighted the lack of points cap on the Velocity card and the higher earn rate when spending with the Virgin Australia group. Neither of these is a big deal to me, but I can see that it would appeal to some people. He also said that Amex want to have a full range of cards so that there's something for everybody.Thats why I am curious what other feedback was asked of and offered by the AFF Five.
By the way, does anyone want to know what we wrote for our 25 words or less???
Frustrated with my inability to come up with something I considered creative, I wrote this without much thought late on the Wednesday night:
"After flying over 80,000 miles of business travel on DJ's hard leather seats, I need something to soften me up."
To the best of my knowledge the answer is YES :!:Honestly, is everyone on this forum an alcoholic?

Just to add to this, while they are not just matching people that have the status, that does not mean that you couldn't state a case to them for such a thing. But I imagine you'd need to convince them it was worth their while in doing so.
For those AFF community members that did take up the match offer, please use the benefits and have a go at retaining it, the priority lanes, upgrades etc are worthwhile, and the upcoming changes can only make things better, especially if your QLD based with the new lounge locations coming online.
The first reference to Amex was on this thread at 11:01PM last night ,post by bunza.on my system it's post #240.there is no time on AusBT's twitter post about it except for "14 hours ago" but I couldn't find anything by anyone else that broke the embargo.
even bunza's post was pure luck as he was browsing the amex site,if anyone is to blame it's Amex for having the site live prior to 12:01.
Cheers

I didn't know that was on offer.
I want one too!
I've been told AMEX but not sure why.
