The Operational Upgrade Thread

Last Thursday on QF11 I got Y -> Y+. guy in lounge apologised that i didn't get J, but it was full. I was happy with Y+ but I did loose my window seat.
Hopefully I'll get the same coming home next week

I was upgraded from PE ('T' class) to J on QF51 from BNE to SIN on Tuesday. Flight appeared oversold in Y, and PE was also full. Start of school holidays in QLD. My first segment was SYD-BNE, and when they produced the BPs at the T3 Premium Desk, a second came out with 'Standby' on it. The agent rang through to Brisbane and confirmed 16K on the 744 upper deck was all mine - "Enjoy the flight!". My company only fly us in [discount] Y, so I was happy enough in PE, which happened to be less than the lowest Y fare on that day. J was a super sweetener :)

Cheers.

Received an op-up on today's leg on QF5 from PE to J. Loading was showing everything as 0 except for J2 at T24

Was op-up'ed yesterday on VA309 MEL-BNE; am VA Plat, did OLCI very early (Seq no 4 I think), was on a saver fare in 3A and moved to 1F on boarding. Flight was full in Y with a lot of families heading for holidays in Queensland.

Friend of mine (also VA Plat) was upgraded AUH-MEL on EY on Monday, from J to F. He was told in FRA that J on his conecting flight was overbooked so got the good news in the F lounge in AUH. He was extremely happy with that, first F experience for him.

Flew s7 for the first time internally in Russia. Was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to 1A. Ticket cost around 90 dollars so was pretty happy with the business upgrade.

Upgraded from economy to premium economy on tonights QF006 flight SIN-SYD.

When I looked earlier economy was full and only 1 premium economy seat and 2 business class seats left.

So Qantas is doing great?

How did you go with Y+ recliners (or did you get a bulkhead/exit seat)?

Just logged on to the Qantas web site and went to my bookings and to my great surprise and excitement Mrs Pyffii and I have been upgraded on QF 94 from Business to First for our flight home on Monday.....A first for us and have no doubt that the 45000 points each will be worth every point:)

From the looks of that flight I would say yes but then the flight up 2 weeks earlier had a light load.

By the way I want Qantas to succeed on these routes as I want a real option flying into SE Asia.

LOL. I was stuck in second row window 30A and not sure it is better than the 38C bulkhead I had pre-allocated but I am not complaining. Op-up into middle seat could have been interesting.

This configuration of the 747 has the IFE in the armrest so even though 29A reclined throughout the flight I was still able to play games and watch movie without any hassles. It was only a short ~6.5 hour flight.
