The Operational Upgrade Thread

My first op-up was my 95th flight on QF metal (counting from 2005) :)
Mine was before my 8th flight (all within one month and all betwixt MEL and SYD in B economy class) as a QP member - it was Christmas eve.

QF94 this eveing op up to PE on O class booking.

Actually, the PE seat is a Skybed :D:lol:

All flights to/from SYD are late this evening. There must have been bad weather in SYD earlier today.

Anyway have gone from 24F in the mini-cabin on the 767-336 to 4A. ;)

First op-up of the year and it is only the 5th day in February and also my brother's birthday. Happy birthday mate....

John,

Bad weather is an understatement. There was a lightning strike in Hillsdale (approx 3kms from Mascot) which damaged a house.

There were some wild times during the afternoon.

First post.

Most recent op-up'd was in SQ from SYD - SIN - BKK on Xmas Eve, rocked up to check in and asked to pay for a upgrade on the day into J. Check in agent, talked to her supervisor and who came out from behind her desk, looked at me and went back behind her desk. My check in agent came back and said I had been upgraded to J for free. Was well chuffed.

Top deck on the 744, very enjoyable experience.

Was also op-up'd when a friend of mine and I flew LHR - ORD - LVS - LAX - LHR. Got to check in and asked for a emergency exit seat and they had moved us into J which was great. It was his 21st birthday that day as well, so I put it down to that.

Always good when that happens! Welcome to AFF.

I sent an e-mail to QF asking how many TOTAL QF flights l have taken with them.
Sue ellen from QF called me this morning. 75 in total. So, if l've been a QFF for 10 years, it's about 7.5 QF flights a year, on average.

TOTAL UPGRADES ; ZIP, ZERO, NADA.

Go QF.

I know that it's not alot compared to come people on this board, but still, something would have been nice for 10 years loyalty.

You get 5000 points for every 450 SC. I think that's getting something for loyalty

Would need to look at my spreadsheet to see how many QF flights I've been on - but am also tracking a grand total of 0 upgrades.

My partner was op-upped from Y+ to J on QF128 on Tuesday. I'm thinking this is due to Chinese New Year?

Works out well for me - our trip to the States later this year got the tick of approval for a Y+ minimum and potentially J "it's just much nicer up there". So thanks QF, our scheme to influence SWMBO has worked a treat! :)

Probably ~40 QF flights... Zero op ups, one domestic points up...
Applying for my first international Y-J points up as soon as work tickets my current itinerary

IMO, not really. Considering that 1 Qantas frequent Flyer Point to be valued by most people to 1 cent, 5000QF Points = $50.00. Getting 450Sc would be a considerable cost i think, if your a SFSC, like me. Even upgrading from full whY to J, say, SYD to PER is 10,000 points l think. So, you would need to earn 900Sc for that upgrade.

Maybe l should just pack my bags and move to the USA and fly southwest, where every 10th (or 11th) flight is free...jokes,. Looks like a 10% reward margin there, on the face of it.

My first post on this thread (don't know why I have missed seeing it)

Haven't had an op up for a while (dom or Intl), will have to go back into my BA97 database and have a look.

10 Flight MEL-SYD earns 10,000 QFF points.

8,000 QFF and $12.09 will get another MEL-SYD flight. (Or 11000 QFF)
