The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

Anyway, I have another update. I used the RJ website to change the FF number, and it worked (nice to see that I can't put a QFF number on a QF booking using the QF website, but I can using RJ website).
An update on this: Upon carefully checking my QFF statement, I can now see why they don't want you putting your QFF number on the QF PNR for a JQ booking that's been rebooked to QF due to a cancellation :)

Are Air France awards seats bookable by Qantas agents? They show up in ExpertFlyer and in the Qantas multi-city calendar view, but I can very rarely select them. I just get bumped back to calendar view and the business (O class) seats are then missing until I perform another search

Phantom award seats? It does seem unlikely to have that many seats 1 to 2 months from departure.

Do the “F” awards sets go through?

I found an itinerary on QF website for $2745, but the call centre is saying the same itinerary is $4586.18 !! How is this possible? It is the same flight numbers!

So why not book on the website for the lower price?

Trying to edit an existing booking - cannot do this online, need to call the CC and get it done :(

Edit : The trip was actually $265x after the $120 QBRL1 discount ... the CPT agent couldn't believe when I told her the price. She said she'd need to escalate it to her supervisor, who will then take the issue to HBA based staff. I'm awaiting a call from the CPT agent today. Fingers Crossed!

They don't show up. I think AF First awards are only for AF members with a certain status
Yes, sounds right.

From memory, I think you can search on AF/KLM websites / apps for award seats (even if you don’t have the points but may need an account) but that might narrow down days with real award seats.

Another newbie question,

I flew SYD-SIN on 13 June and I had opted to carbon offset the flight to get green tier. As far as I can tell this has not been done yet. Does it normally take this long?

No, it should take about 48 hrs after paying for it - if it sticks. The Green leaf should appear even before you fly (if booked and paid in advance).

Try contacting QF.

In the Green Tier thread, there’s been much discussion about what offsets reliably stick and what can be hit and miss.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and have a couple of questions about complimentary lounge passes. We are flying overseas this weekend and requested 2 passes from our ANZ credit card, which is in my husband's name. This is what we can see in his Qantas profile:

ANZ confirmed that they transferred 2 lounge passes, but it looks to me that only 1 has been transferred? Is there any other way to check besides ringing ANZ as we've tried a couple of times and have been put on hold without being able to get through.

We are also travelling with our teenage children. ANZ told us that they would be fine to come in with us but this does not align with what I have seen in the T&Cs for complimentary passes. Will we require passes for them as well and if so, what would be the best way to acquire additional passes? Thanks in advance!

Also get the ANZ passes, but have always found their "concierge" service responsive. I would try again with the same screen shot.
On additional passes, you could get lucky as some generous AFF'ers offer them on this thread

Hi. Just have a newbie question.
To search reward J flights Aus to Eur and return do you need to be logged into your account?
If not logged in you get the same daily flight to LHR and then onto your destination and sometimes to HEL if you search departures from SIN. Thanks.

No, but usually better if you do.

Try using the multi city search (rewards only) if you want to force AY flights from SIN (or BKK etc).

Thanks. I'll try that. Hopefully I can figure out how to redeem some points effectively.
Would like to fly end August 2024 to MXP, ZRH, FCO or CDG in that order or alternatively anywhere in Europe.

But you cannot ask for them on here, you must be "lucky" to be on here, at the right time its offered.
Very very occasionally, QF does offer the opportunity to obtain one pass, also for $25.

2 bags lost after arriving in Santiago - 5 days have passed. No response to my claims for essentials. Qantas Baggage department no idea where the bags are... Great stuff Qantas.. Is there anyway to talk to someone who has an interest in actually helping instead of sending me on a merry go round?
