There have been two threads concerning QF status runs. One for the runs, and a separate one for the discussion.

Those threads are now closed in order to start this combined thread.

Perhaps there should be a general FAQ section?

Or maybe a "common routes"?
Like the OOL-MEL-AKL run.

I am a fan of the DPS hairpin. It works well ex CNS, OOL, HBA, MEL (for a Sydney sider)

I'll usually make the most of the free stopovers, and book three separate trips/holidays:

Holiday 1:
SYD-CNS (classic award)
CNS-BNE-SYD (first leg of DPS fare)

Holiday 2:
SYD-DPS
DPS-SYD

Holiday 3:
SYD-BNE-CNS (last leg of DPS fare)
CNS-SYD (classic award)

J permitted on the dom legs also for a couple more SC to boot.

Hmm, does that work for CGK? Must investigate! A whole new level of holiday 2.x options. 😉

does that work for CGK?

Based on the current (rather expensive) I class fares - it would appear so with a $100 surcharge for the 2nd 'stopover'.

Fare basis IRCG ex CNS/OOL/MEL

Code:
3 STOPOVERS PERMITTED IN EACH DIRECTION
LIMITED TO 1 FREE AND 2 AT AUD 100.00 EACH.

and

Code:
001 CNSJKT 16JUL24 QF AUD 4910.00 IRCG STAY---/12MBK-I

Just to clarify - I believe you need to find dom legs with no I class for it to bump up to J.

This can be easy on routes like SYD-MEL - last week I booked a DPS fare and was able to find an I0 MEL-SYD departure on the date I wanted to travel in Feb 2025. But this might be more difficult on typical leisure routes, especially more than 6 months out.

How do you manage to get that low fare to DPS?

The cheapest J class I can find from MEL-SYD-DPS is about $2000 each way ($4K r/t). Am I missing a trick?

Hi, wanted to ask regarding SYD-SGN route. According to:

Starter Max is no longer existent and Flex Plus only earns 40 SC. However Qantas site still lets me book this route and it says Max bundle on JQ61 for 60 SC.

Also, oddly enough there's another fare on some dates that only earn 30 SC. I don't see how this is possible given the calculator doesn't show a single option for 30 SC on QF or JQ flights.

Can anyone tell me with certainty what SC I will earn on JQ61 if I book through Qantas website?
