Perhaps QF are waiting to see what will happen re the industrial action?

If any of the attendees feels they need a sub then I'll be through SYD on Thursday and all it would cost QF is a change of flight to MEL :!: ;)

Just had the call. Looks like they are flying us up from Melbourne on Wednesday evening. Accommodation in the CBD on QF's account.

Awaiting email details.

As great as it would be to catch up with you (haven't crossed paths since Adelaide last yr), there's two chances of someone giving up their spot for you - buckleys and none :)

Sent using my Roman era abacus.

Had the call as well. Wednesday is my wife's birthday :o

Told them I would have to call back after grovelling with my wife ...

Just got the call myself, and also being accommodated overnight in SYD.

I know. Is the fact we still love you and there'll be a boatload of post-game analysis so you can live the event vicariously enough?

Birthday - meh. If it was an anniversary I could understand the grovelling to SWMBO.

They just called me and gave me the option for Wednesday night or Thursday morning. I've opted for Thursday morning.

They want me to come down on Wed evening too.

Upside is I don't have to be up at 4 for the 5:45 departure from CNS ;)

I too had the call. Wednesday evening for me as well. Has anyone asked about ground transport in SYD? I'm assuming they won't wear the cost of airport parking for us whilst we're up there :D

Tell me about it, apart from a day of leave and missing my wife's birthday! the overnight means the parking cost goes up to $60!!

Why didn't you take the Thursday morning option! It's much easier + cheaper.

Because I believe that QF's preference is that we all arrive on the Wednesday to allow reduce the risk of non attendance due to delayed/cancelled flights, and it will also make it much easier to make sure that everyone makes it to the lunch if they are taking us all from one location as a group.

Haven't had the call yet, but what time is the MEL-SYD flight on Wednesday they're putting you on? Need to plan my week - if it's an afternoon flight, I'll probably be better off with the Thurs morning flight.

Cheers,
- Febs.

I guess it does give QF a few more options in case of delays. It might be just a touch embarrassing if anyone has to take a DJ/VA flight to get there in time!! :p
