Two post offices that I use locally have had new management & staff in the last year: in both cases from friendly and ultra-helpful to surly, grudging, uninformed and unhelpful to an extreme. Will refrain from saying more lest I be considered racist.

....and you would think they'd be even happier these days with increased turnover - more folks using ebay and internet for buying and selling - so trade would be up surely? I guess it also supports some of the posts on here referring to personnel in airlines whose personalities seem ill-suited to be dealing with the public!

I used to own/operate a post office. I could not compete with other post offices on price so the only way I could differentiate myself was by providing better service. Looks like there are opportunities to do this again!

We have brilliant staff at our PO and not so brilliant, aka grumpy staff. It seems to depend on whether the Manager is around at the time.

Never get mad...get even :D...and you did!

What is it with Australia Post?

I went in to get my signature witnessed 'anyone over the age of 18' on the lease documents for my new car and was told they don't do that. If I want an official Australia Post employee signature they can stamp it for $3.95 each. I want 8 signatures so that would have been $31.60.

That's bull$hit

I went to the newsagent and two minutes later was done. I then spent $20 with them on magazines. Much better value.

It is impossible to control weight loss if one puts on 3.4 kilos in 3 days.

To put things into perspective that means I have consumed 23,800 calories on top of the allowed 6,600 calories. There is now way known I have consumed 30,000+ calories in such short space.

Something seriously wrong....

Please explain? Aren't all the prices set - how could another PO beat you on price?

I think thats the point; there is no price differentiation between each store so the only way to stand out is with great service.

I can do that especially when I fly. I never weigh myself within a few days of flying or I get really cross with myself. But it's just fluid accumulation and it works itself out. Maybe get Blood pressure checked too.

I find going to the toilet helps;):D

As to shopping the difference between a man and a woman is that a man will pay $2 for a $1 dollar item he wants but a woman will spend $1 on a $2 item she doesn't want.

And to something totally different I had to come to Botswana to fly in a GA8 Airvan from Straitman territory.

A hand on the wall can help you reduce your weight when you jump onto the scales. This way you can get to your desired weight if you are a bit under or over your target.

Could of been worse, flying the Airvan to Botswana from LTV! Fraser Island is a bit closer if you want some Airvan action.

Quite right. the prices are all the same, so I had to make sure I beat the nearby POs on service to improve trade.

Pretty easy to fly but very little in the way of creature comforts :!:

Better call Warnies mum if you want to fix that fluid retention JohnK.
Don't need to call Warnies mum as I have my own. ;)

Blood pressure is the only thing right with my body. Checked last week and it was 102/78 which shocked the GP as well.

Starved myself today....
