When a merger happens, according to fwa, the terms of your existing arrangement re AL etc still apply as it is essentially the same entity. We (as employers ) went through this exact situation last year.
My flexible arrangement is not written in a contract.

My leave is not negotiable. I decide when I go and I usually give them 6 months - 12 months notice. I refuse to work on project work. I am not one of those people who is afraid to speak up.

By giving employers such long notice then that allows them to forward plan so a win-win.

Sat around a table with my siblings last night - one set of parents - no second marriages to increase sibling pool - total combined ages of said siblings = 660yrs - any body here with a family who can top that?

That's quite a feat. My dad is one of nine kids from late 50's to aged 70 so they would fall a bit under that.

It isn't just hamburgers at In-N-Out !
Try their thick shakes according to Mrscove seeing she is not a burger person.

To bring back he speedo discussion, I'm afraid mine is out in the wrong direction. For example, when my gps indicates 100, my speedo shows about 93. What can I do to get this checked/fixed?

Just tell your mechanic.if you bought your car new then it should be fixed for free.In fact whoever sold it to you should do it as for the last 10 or so years this is illegal.

Testing of speedos can be done at a number of places, if you're a member of the RAA, RACV etc they have the instrument to test for you.

Don't car speedos vary with the amount of wear on the tyres?
Yes a little. But more due to how much air is in them. Replacement tyres can be different to the originals
An error (higher than true) is allowed by the regulations

I've finally booked flights to visit a friend on Thursday Island before he finishes an assignment up there, looking very forward to it!

I'll be coming from WA the week before, feel like I'm traversing from the very Southwest to northeast!

Woke up this morning to seeing ll the delays in SYD.

Glad I was not travelling

Glad I was not at my Place of Employment last night. One of the major signal boxes (according to the media) scored a direct lightning strike & you can imagine the rest...

Last night I went to a gig & got a little arty with a fan that was set up at the front of the stage.

Who is she? (Sorry I really am not up on current musos.)

Totally understandable. I'm more into the indie/underground/unsigned artists. Helen (pictured) is a great example of that. She really started getting serious about producing her own music after lending Amanda Palmer a keyboard for a house party. Helen Perris Music
