If you think that is bad, spare a thought for this little black duck who has to basically celebrate new Years three times. Firstly when all my Australian friends celebrate it, then when my UK friends celebrate it, and finally in 16 hours when the locals celebrate it! :)

Me too :D
I have some very grumpy campers regarding the security arrangements here

Well I've stayed up long enough - to those in other time zones who have already reached the milestone, Happy New Year.

To those that wished me similar, many thanks. I look forward to catching up with you in 2014.

Sleep well and may the hangover be manageable tomorrow :o

What hangover? ;) Inebriated I am, but a hangover I have never had. :D

Happy New Year 2014 AFF. Onward and upward for the new year; may all your dreams come true.

My hotel isn't locked down per se (yet) but there is hotel security keeping an eye on things.

Outside its a different matter. The federal police have a strong presence, (with big guns too!) along with the local and tourist police. Saw two coaches of federal police arrive last night with full riot gear.

Not sure if that reassures me or makes me feel less safe. Haha

7pm 31st Dec here in Rome.
Going to the Colosseum area for a party. Should be interesting. Am expecting to be a mess tomorrow if all goes to plan. I figured I saw New Year 13 in Paris so thought 14 should be welcomed in Rome. Our dollar is only getting worse vs the Euro so might as well live large whilst the liver still allowes it. And the weather has been about 16 deg c so very nice indeed.

Hope all AFFers have their dreams made of Platinum.

And here in BKK I went to bed about 1930 hours local time because I was so tired. Had the best cabbie ever from the airport, we did the have you been here before routine and I told him it was my third time this year, I knew the route and wanted him to get there quickly.

Had the toll money in hand as well as the battered old hotel card (Conrad). The toll was THB270 plus THB50 airport fee. The best fare ever from the airport. A nice tip was provided.

Happy New Year from Washington DC!

Still another 1.15hrs to go.........I'm throwing the towel in early due to an early flight up to YYZ in the morning.

Hope you enjoy your Time Sq NYE!

We did it 16 years ago.......TBH, turned me off TS for life. Seeing the pre-work being set up earlier this week and the number of cops hanging around just reminded me why we were training out on the 28th.

Have Fun!

Waiting for IFE to work on VA1. More details & pics on my trip report in the TR section.

Accidents always happen to the best hands in the best circumstances.

There is a difference between accidents and malpractice which is something the average Doctors should not make.

Complications always occur even if you take all possible precaution.

There is no Doctor who can claim to have a zero complication rate.

All the best of luck !

I'm sure that the issue of the possibility of nerve damage was discussed prior to any procedure. Unless it was due to outright negligence at the time then there is no liability. Why do people always go to the sue/compensation route?

Super payouts can only occur once you are permanently retired and over 55 regardless of the circumstances. You might get access to a small amount for hardship.

I needed to go under general anesthetic for my vasectomy. Four months later I was still firing war shots. The specialist told be it would be okay - that they were just residual rounds in the barrel. But I'd already researched and found out no sperm survive longer than 90 days. I went to a second specialist, who agreed, told me No.1 doc had more than likely cut the same rope twice by mistake, and so I needed to undergo the whole damn procedure a second time. At my expense. Which, I thought was cough, honestly. I paid to be sterilized, and didn't get what I signed for. But I was damned if I was going to let the first guy have a second chance to muff it up.

Sometimes you just have to wear it [isn't that what Monica said??? Okay; I'll get my coat...]
