Election Day in Victoria

Election Day in Victoria.

Some interesting slogans:

And some interesting Party names:

Not a good idea to be teary while driving on a country road but listening to ABC radio Grandstand program they played a dedication to Phillip Hughes and words of support and encouragement to Sean Abbott, spoken by Elton John at a concert just occurred in Germany and then he sang the song "Dont let the sun go down on me" as his tribute.

Apparently that clip is available on Sound Cloud which I've not heard of.

Vale Phillip Hughes 63 Not out.

I love the fact that they are retiring "his number" 64 (his one day shirt). Still have to watch Clarke's comments this morning

Soundcloud is a website where you can listen to music (often indie/unsigned bands) and increasingly spoken word audio & podcasts.

Can't argue with the logic of postponing the First Test in Brisbane. Can't see them rescheduling given the time constraints with the short intervening period before the Second Test. I seriously doubt they would shorten the match, 3 days is not enough. Looks like I'll be back at work instead

Had a glass of red for Hughesy tonight. Don't believe there has been a similar incident in first class cricket, which makes it all the more surreal.

Wonder if they'll also make, as a mark of respect, 408 (as a team score) important? For those wondering what 408 is, he was the 408th player to play a Test Match for Australia.

I think tributes will remain at 63. Having too many markers tends to dilute the recognition.

Richie Benaud's tribute, given his current battles is also very touching as he speaks in a frail voice giving tributes to "the son".

If the first test is in SA it will be an extremely poignant match given that many of the NSW team are in the Test side and Hughes was playing for SA. Might have been better if it was played elsewhere as this may be too much to handle.

I think 63 is good. He was batting well & 63 is certainly better than 5, for instance.

I think I have read that CA will be retiring his ODI/T20 number which is a good move.

Disappointing to be missing my First Test, but I think it may be cathartic for the team. Now if it was at the SCG it might have been a different story...

Quick question.. took a ball to the bone on the side of my ankle at hockey yesterday (caught the bottom of the shin guard so still a little impact) and ankle is still quite swollen. Am doing 2 flights today.. anything to worry about?

Regarding the flights, no .
